For me it's the first Enya album I bought for myself, The Memory Of Trees.

For me it's still Shepherd Moons, the first album I bought. Maybe the first one just sticks with you harder?

Watermark, always, though I do like the others. Watermark has a melancholy about it.

For now, it's Watermark, as it's the first one I bought, in cassette format, with Shepherd Moons an extremely fractionally close second...

I love prety much every album to some degree but Dark Sky Island has really swept me off my feet. Usualy there are a song or two on an album that I don't like that much but that's not the case with DSI, with the exception that the bonus track Remember Your Smile does not click with me that much. It's a bit the On Your Shore of DSI, but thankfully, it's only a bonus track.
I simply love how atmospheric the album is - from its dark beginnings to its emotional end, there is a lot of power in it.
runners up are TMOT, Amarantine and ADWR.

Judging solely by the number of songs I really like on each album, Iโd have to vote for Dark Sky Island. Ironically, Dark Sky Island also has some of my least liked songs also.

If I had to say based on quantity of my favorite songs overall it has to be Watermark, however Dark Sky Island has grown on me and it takes me by surprise because it initially wasn't one of my favorite albums. She's like fine wine. Every album has gotten better over the years. A Day Without Rain song wise is one of my least favorite albums, however stylistically from its cover, art and her look during that time period, in this way it's actually a favorite. Plus Tempus Vernum... It's more than a song to me, it's a beautiful battle cry of the folk soul vying for a free, naturalistic splendor at any cost against all odds. I bet she has tons of unpublished darker songs in the same vein. It speaks to our times and shows how in tune she is to the war of ethos being waged. When someone can shine light on darkness and it becomes beautiful too, I think it's a catalyst feature of a true artist and leader. It shows that their pain and plight cannot be perverted or twisted into something unpleasant, even by the most severe and daunting adversity.

Mine has changed over time. For a long time it was TMOT, but then sometime after Amarantine it switched to ADWR. I think the first half of ADWR is a brilliant connection of songs that flow unlike any other sequence of songs. Obviously DSI has only had a few years to "age" compared to some of the older albums, but there is a lot to like on DSI as well. As a collection I think DSI may work the best, but ADWR may still be my overall favorite, even after almost 20 years.

The only one I've managed to buy (new, CD, from a record shop, so far) is The Very Best of Enya ๐
As for non-compilation albums, my favourite Enya album overall is Watermark, with A Day Without Rain at a close 2nd.
Watermark truly deserves all its mentions, it truly is wonderful, timeless, and I can relate to its inherent 'sense of longing in a detached way'. ๐จ๐ถ๐ญ๐
