I bought the collection some years ago because I was interested in the booklet and some of the b-sides on the discs. I waited until I found it somewhere for a sensible price, so it wasn't that expensive. There still seem to be quite some people who buy OTTC. Many big shops offer it and at Amazon.de it's often even more popular than other albums by Enya.

Re: getting Enya stuff online: One of the big problems with buying stuff on the net is the need for a credit card. There are many people, all over the world, who do not have credit cards. If the stuff they want is not in a local store, they may be up a creek without a paddle. The internet is great for me: I use amazon a lot; but, then, I have a credit card. I'm not sure there is a way around this problem. Hum, there are some suggetions... -Years ago, I bought a lot of another artist rare releases, sending the enough money for the item and the shipment by mail... I knew it was not legal, but it was the only way to do it so. And never got troubles with that, always got the item at home. I doubt Aigle opens this door, as that artist has done to me, but... -It is bad to humilhate yourself asking to someone who are going to other countries "hey, can you bring to me the...", but I tried it once. I asked to a cousing of a friend that it was at US by the time of "Sounds of the Season" release, to bring a copy to me, I would pay for all, etc. She really did - but she brings a "classic" Sounds of the Season release, not the Enya one. It was frustating when I saw... I had print the page from Disco with all details... and nothing! -Humm, I like the idea to fix this trouble with confidence. Maybe if we can count in with another fan that could bought for us when we ask and send us when receives the money by mail or mail order... It would be a two-way road of trust, but it would be great... A way to go around this problem...

I bought this a while back on eBay, it cost around 40.00. I love the packaging of this much more than BOD, if I were to compare the two. The booklet has some very nice pictures and I like how it talks about each song. The only downside to the packaging is that one of the plastic trays in the inside of mine fell off and I had to super glue it back on, but overall, it's worth having. I love the fact that the cover is purple velvet. Nice song selection here as well.

$40 is a good price. I bought mine at B&N, so just about paid full price for it .. $53 with tax IIRC. I've never had trouble with the trays though. Be careful! I remember some early threads on Unity where some people mentioned cds that broke easily and for no apparent reason. That's not happened to me.
I want to take care of the velvet case, so I've put it inside a big ziploc bag for dust protection mainly. I'm now wondering if I need to worry about the ziploc plastic emitting fumes or chemicals over time that might damage the case anyway.
OTOH, one can obsess a *little* too much about this stuff. ;D

You could make backup copies of the cds and not touch the case at all. The next time I'm at a brick-and-mortar photo shop, I'll look at archival quality pouches or boxes for this and the Amarantine deluxe box set.

I did buy a copy of OTTC, but, not for myself. It was for a member at Unity....
I just don't have the desire, at this time, to own a copy for myself, since I, like Bastian, already have all the songs on cd/vinyl/cassette, that I'm aware of....

I bought a copy, and for myself But it was at the start ... I think it was my second Enya album after PTSWS, so it wasn't a case of buying the same music twice (although there was some overlap). However, it's worked in reverse for me as there are now some Enya albums that I probably won't buy because all the tracks are on one or more of the compilation CDs I have.

I would end up buying the cds anyway. There seems to be a reason behind the track order of the albums--the tempo, a flow of themes. I couldn't get that with the compilations unless I ripped the tracks and put them in the right order. Much easier to get the cds. OTOH--I already HAD the albums before buying OT:TC. ;D

Alright, confession time. I found OT:TC on sale at Amazon the other day for $32.00, and bought it. It arrived today! I haven't played the CDs yet, but I'm enjoying Roma's notes and the photos. I don't think I've ever seen the "centerfold" photo before.

I'm glad you got that, and $32.00 brand new is an excellent price. The booklet has great photography and the notes are interesting. It's a nice package all around.
Now.. fess up, it wasn't the only box set you got the other day, was it?

Now.. fess up, it wasn't the only box set you got the other day, was it? Well, actually, it was....the Amarantine box set didn't arrive until today. I haven't had a chance to explore it yet, though. I paid $13.96 for it, not bad, through a seller at Amazon. I'm looking forward to reading the book!Riene....congrats...the booklet seems to be one of interests...I am trying to recall if I had seen the centerfold you speak of? It's Enya, of course, lying on the floor with one arm behind her head, wearing a dark dress with a sash around her waist. The dress has some criss-crossed cording at the bust. It's a nice photo.

Ah, that's right. You said the Amarantine box was on the way. Getting both sets at those prices--you definitely had a Sumgai moment! ;D Seeking my own Sumgai moment, I've ordered a second Amarantine Deluxe box set at a price just slightly cheaper than Riene's. What will I do with two box sets? Dunno... but prices keep goin' up, I might be able to put the kid through college on it.
