I agree that I think there is a list of questions that interviewers are given regarding what they can and cannot ask. One of Pat KennyΒ΄s questions is always..
Have you found someone to share your castle with?
Which I doubt would have been on the list he was given.

The one question that always made me grin was during the Sunday Morning interview:
Interviewer: "So we don't need to worry about Enya being lonely in her castle overlooking the sea..."
Eithne: "No, no...I am never lonely."
I also liked the part about endless parties, but that's for another thread lol.

endless parties? lord, I can hardly make it past 11 pm Same here! There was something about how she said there are endless parties and that she is never lonely that sounded...I don't know...fake? It just didn't come across as genuine to me. Did anyone else think this? I felt like she said those things to help get rid of the recluse label people keep giving her. I don't know, the last part of the interview always felt awkward and out of place to me.

Good point, OWB. Considering how often she's said she likes it quiet and isn't social, hasn't time for a relationship, etc so she can concentrate on the music...hmmm. Sounds like a disclaimer to me, too.

I agree with OWB & Riene. That last bit about never being lonely and a stream of parties sounded forced. But.. to play devil's advocate: who isn't lonely at sometime or other? Yeah, we all are, but Enya can't admit that without the RECLUSE label popping up. As for the comments about endless parties, perhaps that sounds forced because she had to answer a question that touched on her personal life? She didn't want to go into detail about guests and parties, but had to answer in some way. To her it was an awkward question, and she answered it with hesitation.
Any takers on that? Ahh.. I thought not.....

Well, we know she has had a few parties there.
But then again, I've had a few parties here, and no one in their right mind would call me social.
I don't know...if I'd grown up in a small house with lots of siblings and relatives constantly about, I'd probably be quite content to ramble about by myself in a nice-sized small castle with "all mod con"....
"Really, people...it's QUIET here. I don't have to share. I'm fine with it! Really!!!!"
