What are the origins of Gaelic? Has it been traced through the millennia to Indo-European origins, and has an origin point for it and a time period been discovered?
I'm reading Frank Delaney's The Celts, and an overview Irish history called Ireland Through the Ages (essentially a photography book, but does have a moderate amount of historical information), trying to follow the paths of Celtic tribes through Europe into Ireland. Neither of them really go into the language itself.

Another great read is The Encyclopedia of Celtic Wisdom by Caitlin Matthews. I always refer to this book from time to time. Also The Lore of the Bard by Arthur Rowan and The Sidhe: Wisdom from the Celtic Otherworld by John Matthews
