I'm sure most of us have heard the other version, and more than some care to, but, I'd be interested to hear how they've tweaked this updated 'chorale' style version....

I'm GLAD <note verb returned to proper place...> Oiche Chiuin is on the album. Even for a seasonal/winter album, it's a fine song to end with. I'm glad they've done a new recording, too. It's Enya's favorite Christmas carol. Was there ever any doubt that it wouldn't be on the album? The 'chorale' arrangement sounds pretty. Can't wait to hear it.

It had to be there, we all know that in our hearts, but at least it's a new version TC, I think you've dropped a verb above - it fell and hit me on the head.

I'm curious to hear that song with the new arrangement.

I like the silent version of Oiche Chiuin very much and I cannot imagine that a lot of bombast would suit this song very well. Nevertheless I am very curious about the new version and what the chorale will sound like. Enya is clever, so she won't replace a version she loves with one that doesn't sound good.

"excuse me."> Of course it was going to be there and, after all the flack Enya's taken for using the song as a b-side over the years, it was certain that they would re-record it. I'm glad it's on the album, and from the track titles I think it'll be a fitting way to finish the album.

It's imho much more shorter than the original, and ... well , it's a chorale. It sounds imho good, but could be longer, for my taste. But I think it could be that the heavy voice-layering sort of prevented it - it is just much, much, much more work. Therefore, I have the feeling a little bit as if this song was put on the album rather "last minute", and they took what they had. But that's just my very personal impression. There is nothing bad aout this song, only - as I said before already - that it appears to me a little bit short. I think it could sound nice if used in conjunction with the original (before or after it, although I tend to prefer it before it). Maybe in some kind of compilation.

I love the new version. I love the whole choir of Enyas.

I think I like the earlier version better, though this is lovely. Good use of the layering style--not only is it a choir of one, it is also a symphony of one in this song.

Enya said, in a recent interview, that OC (Chorale) was her favourite track on this album, mainly because of its association with her childhood and her family, singing it in the church choir, etc. I found it refreshing that an artist would pick a song she did not compose, but a traditional one

I like both Enya's versions. The sweetness in Enya's voice in the original wins out for me though.
