Sorry, but where does this song appear ? It's at the enya.com main website, Alrik, and it's in that castle map area. Go to the music room and then click on the sheet music that appears on the piano. Click on it several times, and Solar Winds will show up...though it may be under its Gaelic name.

Sorry, but where does this song appear ? It was originally released as part of a Touch Travel cassette - I think to promote Ireland's tourism. The copyright belongs to TT I assume. It is also known as: An Ghaoth Γ³n Ghrian (The Solar Wind) It's very rare and costly to obtain, but at least the track is now available at Unity.

Wouldn't the copyright belong to Aigle? I used to wonder who owned it, until I remembered that Miss Clare is on Watermark and the copyright attributed to Aigle/Enya/EMI (whoever, but not TouchTravel). That makes me believe that Aigle has the copyright to Solar Wind as well. Oh, I WISH they'd release this. I WISH Enya would go back to the song and develop it further or give it a new treatement, and then I WISH they would release BOTH versions on cd.

Yes, you're right: MCR must be copyrighted by Aigle, so TSW is probably theirs too. Good point.

Song publishing is a tricky business. The songwriter doesn't neccessarilly own both the right to publish and the copyright. Most of Enya's songs are published by EMI/Blackwood. I think "Enya" "The Celts" is an exception, but I can't remember the publisher. I'm very sure that Touch Travel was the publisher, which would mean Enya could only publish the song through them. If they wanted to be extortionists (not in the legal sense of word) they could hold out ever allowing Aigle to release that version of the song. Crazilly enough, I think publishing law would allow Enya to record and release a completely new version of the sone (which is how they got away with "Miss Clare Remembers" on Watermark, as it is a completely different version).
