See this thread for explanation: enyaforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=celts&thread=378We've heard all the arguments for and against....now it's time to make a choise. What tracks would you select of this magnificent album to represent it? Here's my (preliminary) selection (I hadn't done this album before): - Less than a Pearl - It's In The Rain - The River Sings - Sumiregusa - Someone Said Goodbye - Water Shows The Hidden Heart Now, here is the tricky bit - there are quite a few tracks which may be changed, depending on mood: - The River Sings / IICBWYA - SSG / A Moment Lost / Drifting / ATFS It's hard to make a choice, but I went with SSG because it has a catchy melody, even though I love ATFS. As someone said, there are basically two albums going on here....one Loxian and one English. Love, Phantas

Good work phantas. I feel that ADWR is probably the most cohesive album so far, while AM felt really disjointed... It really could've been two albums as you say and the ordering could've been better

If so, I'd love to see which tracks you choose! ADWR is a great album, but I feel it is too short and fails to impress me as much as the pre-ADWR albums did, especially Watermark & TMOT. I also posted a list like this for every album here, please check them out! Love, Phantas

Are we talking about overall for the general public?
For Amarantine I would have to go with, in no particular order:
- Amarantine - Someone Said Goodbye - It's In the Rain - Long Long Journey - Sumiregusa
For me personally, I would add, just because I love them, these other 3 songs:
- Less Than A Pearl - The River Sings - Water Shows the Hidden Heart

For AM, I select an English core and a Loxian core. The core of the Loxian songs I would say is WSTHH - for me that is also the finest track on the entire album and my personal Enya all-time fav, but I know others will disagree. The English core, for me, would be: It's in the Rain A Moment Lost Amid the Falling Snow Edited because I haven't had much sleep lately

Well...
From The Celts... The Celts Dan y Dwr
From Watermark... Orinoco Flow (forever) The Longships Watermark
From Shepherd Moons... Smaointe... (even being from Watermark times) Caribbean Blue Marble Halls
From The Memory of Trees... The Memory of Trees Anywhere Is China Roses
From A Day Without Rain Wild Child Only Time Flora Secret
From Amarantine... Less than a Pearl It's in the Rain Water Shows the Hidden Heart
From And Winter Came... Last Time by Moonlight Trains and Winter Rains And Winter Came
From the B-sides... Someone Said Goodbye (Remix) I May Not Awaken Morning Glory Oriel Window
I think it is hard to set core songs, as all of them are great. Maybe it will be easy if we try a different category, not from the albums, but instrumental, up-tempo and intimist. Something like A Box of Dreams thing...

Eternity, just FYI, I have set up seperate threads for each album to put your entries in And I feel instrumentals are as much part of the core of an Enya album in most cases as the songs. These threads are not to create a favourite list or best of album (like Box of Dreams) but rather to select those songs out of an album which make it worthwile, or which tracks really make the difference to make a good album great if you catch my drift Love, Phantas
