What do you think about The Very Best of Enya?

OK, I'll start, as the CD/DVD set arrived today, and I'll start with the booklet, which is a fine addition to the set, with comments by Enya, Roma and Nicky, each on her/his own page, lots of pics, all contained in a lovely box "set". So, until I've had time to play the two discs, I'll give this release an "A" for the booklet

LOL, I had already posted my findings in the other thread.... but I agree about the booklet - simply gorgeous, love the texts as well. Pictures are amazing. As for the DVD - sound is great (DTS 5.1!!!) and the videos look stunning naturally. I haven't watched the extras...but I know those already so..... Music - sound is wonderful, the new AnΓron is lovely (although I have a gripe with it - the quality is not as clear, as pristine as the LOTR version) and overall it is a lovely combination of songs. After a couple of listens I do find my own faults with the listing, but that's personal taste and I won't go into that now 9/10 stars! Love, Phantas

Well, I bought the brazilian CD-Only version (The only one avaiable in Brazil). No DVD over here... There's nothing different in booklet when comparing with the photos I have seen on the net from another countries. I loved the photo montage with some that were unknow for me. As a modest collector, I had to buy this edition for AnΓron alone (that I always liked and found much better now). Always asked to myself how Aigle has sent this tracks to the score, now I know. The remastered tracks sound a bit better and clearer. I missed some tracks, but it was their choice, not mine.

The release has not yet made the Canadian Top 100 chart - though, interestingly, AWC has re-entered the chart at # 85.

I also saw the commercial on TV last night, out of the blue! ;D It's basically the same as the Norwegian/Danish one, but then in Dutch and somehow I believe it was slightly shorter.....but that could just be me. It didn't feature Book of Days in the background if I remember correctly.

Just curious here: What versions(s) did you get? I got the single CD at a low cost and will give it to my mother for Christmas. I got the CD/DVD combo for myself

I bought the single CD, the combination CD/DVD and the collectors box set. I'll probably give the single away at Christmas, enjoy the combination and put the box set aside. I haven't received any of them as of yet, however, as I ordered them all via the Enya.com shop. I should have just bought the single and combo locally, as this would have been less expensive, but I was feeling particularly lazy the day I ordered the collectors set, and talked myself into just taking care of everything in one shot. Heck, it's only money ....

TVBOE (single CD) entered the Canadian charts this week at 25 - which is pretty darn good imo. With AWC at # 77, Enya has two albums in the top 100 here - that's a wonderful achievement

I have already taken my DVD over so my mom could watch a few things. She really enjoyed it - and appreciated that Enya is a hard worker and can make turn her poetry and music into such a splendid visual display.
I was glad to show her the disk because she doesn't really know much of the business end of Enya...just her music itself. It was nice sharing it with her, and I'm sure it gives her a better understanding of why I enjoy Enya as a whole so much more.
