I have already taken my DVD over so my mom could watch a few things. She really enjoyed it - and appreciated that Enya is a hard worker and can make turn her poetry and music into such a splendid visual display. I was glad to show her the disk because she doesn't really know much of the business end of Enya...just her music itself. It was nice sharing it with her, and I'm sure it gives her a better understanding of why I enjoy Enya as a whole so much more. Glad she liked it - it was my mom who introduced me to Enya, so we kind of have a bond in that area

LOL, I had already posted my findings in the other thread.... but I agree about the booklet - simply gorgeous, love the texts as well. Pictures are amazing. As for the DVD - sound is great (DTS 5.1!!!) and the videos look stunning naturally. I haven't watched the extras...but I know those already so..... Music - sound is wonderful, the new AnΓron is lovely (although I have a gripe with it - the quality is not as clear, as pristine as the LOTR version) and overall it is a lovely combination of songs. After a couple of listens I do find my own faults with the listing, but that's personal taste and I won't go into that now 9/10 stars! Love, Phantas I've been meaning to ask about what you meant about the sound quality. I think this song is more crisp/clear than TAWR. Maybe I am misunderstanding...

OWB - the sound quality of Enya's voice on AnΓron as offered on TVBOE is very clear, however, I dislike the synth sound in it...it sounds so noisy, distorted. Enya used synth in the past which never bothered me (i.e. Song of the Sandman, Isobella), but wiht this song it becomes slightly overpowering, especially at the beginning. In comparison to the version of LOTR, her voice is polished as well, and the music even more so. It is almost absent which makes that version so beautiful, it's as pure as Enya can get. Also, it sounds as if real strings have replaced the synth, albeit very silently. I still like the TVBOE version, although I guess I was expecting more than what I got. Does that clear it up a little? Love, Phantas

I will have to listen to both versions again...I think I understand what you are saying. I just haven't had the time to sit and really listen to it.

It's now falling in the charts here - it was #4 in the first week (which was actually fantastic for Canada) but is now falling down each week. I was disappointed that it was NOT included in one chain's "sale on recent releases" promotion.

I never did see the album for sale here, in Target, WM, or Barnes and Noble.

I never did see the album for sale here, in Target, WM, or Barnes and Noble. I find that very odd - you'd think the single would be there.

Of course, this may also mean that all copies were snapped up immediately, leaving none for those of us who didn't brave the blizzard....

A question--can someone tell me what is inside the booklet I keep reading about? Is it just lyrics?

A question--can someone tell me what is inside the booklet I keep reading about? Is it just lyrics? There are no lyrics to all the songs in the booklet, but there are two snippets of both Caribbean Blue and Only Time in a form of handwriting in the booklet. There is some difference between the booklets of the differing versions, but I know the single cd version has a few words by Nicky, Roma and Enya and Noel....ehm.. something. However, these are but snippets compared to what they write in the booklet of the CD/DVD combo. And I believe there is even more to be discovered in the vinyl version!!! A lot of photos besides that. That's it I think Love, Phantas

I was finally lucky enough to get a copy of the TVBOE Collectors Edition. I love the presentation and the photos. It took me a long time to get but one of my favorite items. It's a great look at Entas career.

EDIT: Oops, I originally wrote this thinking of OT:TC rather than TVBOE. I'm so embarrassed! But I'll keep it in case anyone wants to see the old website for that earlier compilation. Anyway, I do own 2 regular versions of TVBOE -- the CD and the CD+DVD editions. ~~~~~~~~~~ Ooh, TVBOE [edit: OT:TC]....I think I remember seeing it at Borders bookstore back when it was released. I didn't snatch it up, however, since I already had all of the B-sides. So I mostly would've bought it for the presentation box/booklet, which are lovely! Nothing better than Simon Fowler's Enya photos. Here's something kinda fun -- the Internet Archive saved the promotional site for TVBOE [edit: OT:TC]. Does anyone remember this? I just love the loop of the opening for Caribbean Blue that features as background music. Check it out! web.archive.org/web/20030602032848/http://enyaonlytime.co.uk/enya_microsite.html
