Hi everyone.. as some may know I occasionally take an album, put all the b-sides into it and see how it plays out. I just created one of those lists for Watermark, and I must admit I never heard Watermark in this way before. For anyone who wants to try it out, here follow the numbers: 01. Watermark 02. Exile 03. Orinoco Flow 04. Evening Falls 05. Miss Clare Remembers 06. Storms in Africa (original) 07. On Your Shore 08. River 09. The Longships 10. Cursum Perficio 11. Morning Glory 12. Na Laethe Geal M'Γ³ige 13. I May Not Awaken 14. As Baile 15. Storms in Africa II There's something about the way the tracks flow, that make it an ultimate way to listen to tracks we've heard so many times. It's like listening to a story unfolding... Some of the passages in this version are just divine : Miss Clare Remembers followed by Storms is just exquisite, the way the two tracks flow into eachother. Also, the combo River and The Longships was already good, but adding Cursum Perficio to the mix behind it is even better! It seems to make more sense to me this way also (a journey ends...). Odd tracks out for me are (as mostly always) On Your Shore and I May Not Awaken. On Your Shore never sounds right to me for Watermark....I can't explain why but the melody doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the tracks on the album. I added I May Not Awaken but it could easily be taken out...however, hearing this track and then As Baile is gorgeous. I then added Storms II because it brings us back to life so to say. Go on, give it a try - I know you want to.

Ah, thank you for your suggestion. I do like to do compilations on audio cassettes for me/myself, and this is a good thing, I think.
The only problem I'd have would be : Where is the original version of "Storms in Africa" - I mean which one of the several versions is it, actually ?
And, while I'm at it : How many versions are out there, actually ?

The original version of Storms in Africa is the gaelic version on the album, whilst Storms in Africa II is the English version which was included on the American release of Watermark As for other versions, I only know of these two to be quite honest, and when I'm doing this kind of list then I usually stick to album versions myself I'm not sure whether you have these songs on pc, but if you do I recommend you try it out first, and perhaps then record/burn on cassette or cd.

There is a small change in the version released on PTSWS: On the Album Paint The Sky With Stars the track time is 4:10 (longer intro). from the Official Discography

Or was it unintentional - just a matter of a few seconds added, resulting in a few more seconds/minutes of silence?
