This one was released, AFAIK, only in Japan in 1995, so many of us may never have held it in our hands. But the songs will be familiar:
01 Anywhere Is 02 Orinoco Flow 03 Caribbean Blue 04 Book of Days 05 Oíche Chiún
Now, only the last seems to me "Christmasy" in any way - I would love to understand the thinking behind such EPs. Is it simply that Warner wanted to recycle some of Enya's "greatest hits" and threw in Oíche Chiún to make it a Christmas EP?

Maybe it was the other way around, Kerry. Warner wanted a Christmas EP from Enya, but Oiche Chiun was her only Christmas song. They fleshed the album out with her greatest hits.
Why is this one so rare, though? Why were so few copies pressed?

And where is the DVD - so many questions!!! You know, I had never heard of this EP until I procrastinated one day at the Discography.

Well, as so many other singles and EPs, those limited recordings are very local, and it was probably a commemorative edition for the release of TMOT. It doesn't matter what songs cames in, with "Oíche Chiún" we will always have a Christmas release. Those singles brings a lot of extra money for Warner, even being so limited, so this is the only reason to be released. We cannot forgot that in Japan CDs are not cheaper, and this is probably why over there are so many "special-extended-limited-bonustracked" releases. It is not this EP what carries a small Christmas message from Enya?

What makes this EP somewhat "Christmas-y" is the fact that it's covered in [Caribbean] blue velvet, much like those of Only Time: The Collection and Amarantine: Deluxe Collector's Edition boxsets; the title and the Enya logo are embossed in silver. There is a pre-printed handwritten holiday greeting by Enya in the inside cover. I believe it was promotionally released around the 1995 holidays. It's quite rare and luxurious. I'm humbled by the fact that I was able to win a copy from eBay about 2 years ago...and it was quite pricey.

Big, what, in your opinion, would be a "reasonable" price for this EP? I have no idea what the market is.

To me, a "reasonable" price for this EP would be $100.00 USD.... For the 2 I wound up getting my hands on, one was $405.00 USD, and the second was $305.00 USD..... Considering their overall rarity on the open market, though, I seriously doubt that someone could get their hands on one for about 100 bucks....then again, I could be wrong, and someone might be fortunate enough to get one for that price....

I was fortunate enough to get my copy about 2 years ago for, if I remember correctly, $150; it was a Buy-It-Now item from eBay. I snagged it right away when I saw its listing.
