As some of you may know, three Canadian provinces are dealing with major flooding: Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. And temperatures across the country are below seasonal averages. This has been a very cold and wet spring - I'm hoping some warmer weather and sunshine will eventually reach us!

They'd fit in well down my way when a tropical storm or hurricane looms in the vicinity....or so it would seem....in response to Riene's last post...
Flooding's no fun....been through minor bouts of it down my way the past 4-5 years....the house is okay, but driving thru knee-deep water's no fun...

I believe we are up to 18 tornadoes in the last two days. Ugh.

Strong winds here in Finland as well, no fallen trees though but a backwinter and a snow flurry which started yesterday evening and seems to continue also today. Looks like I won't be able to continue cycling before the snow melts away...

*gently tosses powdery snowball in Suvi's general direction...and misses....* 'sticks out tongue in silly fashion'

Our plants, the ones not yet devoured by the rabbits, are just beginning to arise from their slumber. This has been a very poor April-May for us, floral-wise. Not sure what the rest of May will bring, but nobody is planting veggie gardens right now.

Not sure what the rest of May will bring, but nobody is planting veggie gardens right now. Terrible here too. Cold and dreary. Rain most days and no spring colors. I'm quite tired of this. I want some warm sunshine.

Had a blast of thunderstorms earlier this afternoon, which hit just as I dropped my mum off at the grocery store door...wound up getting drenched trying to get in the store myself...that 10 minute squall line caused a bunch of roof/tree/downed power line damage in the area...

After a mild winter and a recording breaking February, we're now having a cold forsty spring. Plants are on hold for the moment. My Toms are qued up inside, awaiting transplant to the greenhouse.

I can currently truly say 'it's a dark and stormy night' as thunderstorms are afoot in my corner of the world...poured rain like no tomorrow this afternoon for a good 90 minutes before it stopped...

Pouring rain here as well. At least it's keeping it cool.

Byebye to backwinter, welcome rain! It makes my cycling trips less dusty, now I have to hope that it would rain only in nighttime as I don't have any rain-proof pants...

We are expecting some pretty bad weather here today--serious storms are already forming and the afternoon will bring tornadoes, large hail, and flooding. It's bad enough that most of the state school systems, universities, and churches have shut down and many businesses as well. Wish us luck!

Saw that a tornado put down near/in OKC, Riene - eveything OK at your place?
Just back from Saskatchewan - where there are already fires burning. Too dry and no rain - grass all brown still. Looks like another bad wildfire summer.

It's been sunny/dry here in my corner of Florida this past week, and it's to remain that way all week this week by the looks of it, with 20-30% chances of rain, if that, for next weekend, when the official start to the Atlantic hurricane season hits....
