I quite like Brídín's music (her only album, Eyes of Innocence, released 2005) and the song 'Hang On' has recently been in my head Often she is compared to Enya and Moya, but musically they are quite different. Brídin's music seemed closest to contemporary pop, although it doesn't seem to have become as popular overall. Enya was very lucky to have the right people around to help with the production and promotion of her music. All 5 sisters' voices (including Olive and Deirdre) are very nice to hear🎙🎶 I know some similar music, but don't know the sort of genre it would be considered as. They all have sweet vocals accompanied by guitar/drums, the style is is most noticeable in the mid-2000s releases. Here is a mix of the sort of music, including Enya (though Enya's musical styles are much more diverse); Maggie Reilly (famously sings the Mike Oldfield song Moonlight Shadow); Eva Jeanette Iversen (perhaps most similar style to Brídín's, also voices Queen Iduna in the Northern Sámi dub of Frozen 2), and Natalie Imbruglia (famous for her Torn cover, also happened to be one of the artists Brídín is inspired by). Also, is it true that Enya and Brídín share a birthday?

Also, is it true that Enya and Brídín share a birthday? While I don't have the exact date, here's a snip from the July 21, 1989 Donegal Democrat. Indicating she had "recently" turned 21. That's vague, but suggests to me her birthdate is later than May 17. At least we know the year! 1989_07_21 Donegal Democrat - Bridin 21st birthday by Candace66, on Flickr Interesting, the year the newspaper suggests is probably the most reliable. It also suggests that all of the Brennan siblings were born before the 1970s. When searched on Google the year is 1974 for Brídín, (about 6 years younger than the newspaper suggests). Another site peoplepill.com/people/bridin-brennan says 1977, almost 10 years later than the newspaper suggests, and a much earlier birthday, January 20th. Probably only people keeping official records, good acquaintances, friends and family know for sure, which is fine. Usually when the birth year of someone relatively famous is disputed, it seems to be just a few (2-3) years off, but this is quite a different case. As for Enya, most state the same birthday in 1961, sometimes 1962, rarely 1963 with a winter birthday. She does mention about being a Taurus so a May birthday for herself must be true.

Brídín celebrated her 50th birthday when Leo’s Tavern celebrated being opened 50 years in 2018.

I also made a couple of other mixes today based around Brídín's songs and a few others that are similar in music style or lyrically. This mix is titled 'Bridin Brennan', it is okay but didn't mix the songs as well as the previous one titled 'New Enya Mix' (but only features 1 Enya song ). Here it is - this one features the videos for two of Moya's songs that Olive, Deirdre and Brídin also sang and featured in (It would have been even better if Enya joined them, so all 5 sisters were there, I would guess that Enya might have been busy with promoting Shepherd Moons at the time.) The other songs include a few by Natalie Imbruglia (her song 'Nothing Missing' seems to resemble Brídín's song 'You Can't Hurt Me'). I also listen to M People songs (sung by Heather Small) so I added 'Search For The Hero'. I recently discovered Tasmin Archer; she sings the song 'Sleeping Satellite', which I have recently been mixing with Enya songs, particularly Book Of Days (similar music videos) and Anywhere Is (the song meanings are sort of similar). Tasmin's vocals sort of reminded me of Brídín's, and the fact that she is a trio alongside John Hughes and John Beck was interesting as it reminded me of Enya, Nicky and Roma, the trio we all know here

I have recently been relistening to the songs by Brídín - all the songs from 'Eyes Of Innocence' are sort of compiled as a mix which crossfades into each song here 😊🎵

Quite recently I discovered a song that Brídín did vocals for, Virgin Ocean 🌊✨️ There is also an article that I hadn't read before from 2001 from Brídín www.rte.ie/entertainment/2001/0301/393087-dayjob/ 💡 It was quite funny to read that she was asked about glow-in-the-dark prawns 🦐 and called to the office because they found (though she didn't mention it before) that she is Enya's sister

I just found two other websites that mention more about Brídín and her music: The 2nd link (Last.fm) seems to mention the correct year of birth 1968; it also said last edited 2008 (although the age adjusts to the current year. 💡 I wonder where the 1974 d.o.b (and May 17th, same as Enya) came from? I think out of all the siblings, there is relatively little info about Enya's sister Olive, not even exact year of birth (maybe 1963?) I might have created a thread for her and Deirdre by now, but since their careers are not in music so much, I'm not that sure it would be as appreciated here. There is r/BrennanSisters though, and this post (plus Brídín, 10th July; I noticed on the Wikipedia page, where a previous editor added her birthday but not in the right place in the infobox)

Bridin has:
Recorded and released a single, then an album, under her own name; Recorded with Clannad, Moya, and others; Starred in a music video for her single; Done numerous print and TV interviews; Done photo sessions for publicity; Operated a website to promote herself and her recordings; Toured internationally with Clannad and appeared on stage many other times in various contexts; Performed on TV.
How is she not a public figure?

How is she not a public figure? This and also Brídin is a children's choir director, there is this YouTube video upload where she conducts the choir and Moya sings/plays the harp. 🎼🎵 Brídín should still count; I'll guess it was my mention of Olive who doesn't currently count (although she definitely contributed - this event of many www.rte.ie/archives/2019/0612/1054963-leos-tavern-donegal/ plus the recordings with Moya, particularly this video of the four sisters, where I wish Enya had joined too.) They all cared for the environment before it became a societal thing, and still do (Enya's new Box Of Dreams release will be 'eco friendly') which is nice to know. 🤗🌱

(As Topaz recognized in her own post: "I think out of all the siblings, there is relatively little info about Enya's sister Olive, not even exact year of birth (maybe 1963?) I might have created a thread for her and Deirdre by now, but since their careers are not in music so much, I'm not that sure it would be as appreciated here.) Please don't assume things that I did not say. Or take remarks totally out of context.

I just found another article related to Brídín's music www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/drawn-back-to-her-roots-with-a-style-all-her-own/28239804.htmlIt's interesting in that it mentions Enya, and how Brídín was apparently told (by management - Warner perhaps, or Nicky and Roma?) not to talk about Enya. That seems a bit much, but hopefully things were okay between them otherwise. 😌 I could understand it if this was in relation to the stalking events affecting Enya around that time. The nicer mention of Enya was when Brídín recalled when she and Olive knew of Enya getting a Number 1 in the UK charts in 1988 ⛵🎉

I quite like Brídín's music (her only album, Eyes of Innocence, released 2005) and the song 'Hang On' has recently been in my head It certainly returns to my mind every once in a while, currently is in my head. 🎶 I get that the lyrics resemble the idea of a court case/trial, but anyone going through some trials and tribulations in life could relate. 😌 Does anyone here have the actual CD and liner notes? I'd never seen them before, and it's a surprise that the lyrics aren't on the main lyric sites like Genius lyrics. I'll probably add them sometime soon Also in 'Hang On', some sites say the lyric is 'your life is all a lie' but I thought it was 'your life is on the line'. (Upon listening closely, it was the former) 😅
