Links to the archived sites that had many transcripts of pre-Dark Sky Island Enya interviews:
There are quite a lot of interviews that Enya has done, despite people saying that she is hardly seen. ๐ ๐
As you probably know, these will occur during the promotional touring for an album, not often outside of those times, understandably.
Enya also does speeches when giving or receiving awards/honours โญ๏ธ
I like her sense of humour All 5 of the Brennan sisters have a good sense of humour individually; I would say Olive seems the most naturally funny ๐๐ซ
I will probably mention some Enya interviews in bold, Enya quotes in italics, extra info in small font, and adding some links to videos/pages at a later date. ๐
Some of my video clip favourites based on the balance of being a fun conversation and informative: the interview with Rosie O'Donnell on her show in 1997 and the interview with Alan Titchmarsh on his show in 2009. Both had some interest in the music and seemed to understand Enya. ๐ค๐ต
The fact that Alan mentioned Adiemus by Karl Jenkins (and not mistaking it for Enya) was wise, and so was his question about Enya being difficult to work with "Well, I would be the perfectionist.. how did you know?! [laughs]"
Alan Titchmarsh currently does a program called Love Your Weekend, and continues to interview some interesting people. There was also a children's programme that I recall watching, called Gordon The Garden Gnome, where he voices the title character ๐ Before these various media roles, he is primarily known as a great gardener ๐ฑ but has also written a book of poetry.
Rosie O'Donnell made Enya genuinely laugh a lot for many to see, and it was quite an entertaining discussion! ๐
It was supposedly said on Rosie's website in 2008 that she and Enya became friends afterwards, often meeting up for dinner when Enya was travelling nearby.

Not completely sure it that remains that similar 15 years later. Rosie is perhaps seen as someone more controversial, affected by tragedy, less lighthearted, but I would imagine that their friendship continues in some form. ๐
The HuffPost interview in 2016 was also rather good and informative, and I liked the guest question and video too. ๐
Lots of them have certain moments that stand out from the interview - ones that come to mind are the ones from Ireland's Late Late Show (2005, 2008) with Pat Kenny "have you been there? I've spotted you..!" the BBC Breakfast TV London (old version, from 1989) "relaxing" ; and Music From The Bridge, 1992 "when Enya's gone."
Filmed interviews featuring others spoken to alongside Enya - the Val Doonican 1987 interview is one of the best, Enya's father Leo also spoke for a bit. Enya seemed very happy outdoors in Gweedore for that interview. ๐กโค๏ธ๐ "Really? That's incredible!"
My favourite audio only interviews tend to be the later ones, particularly those from 2015 -16. There was this 'Enya In The Echoes Podcast' one where she sings unaccompanied (also, for video, the Today morning programme in America, 2008 where Enya sings a bit of Silent Night in Irish with the two ladies presenting, haha) ๐๐ฃ
The interviews mentioning Enya's own song choices so the Elaine Page radio interview from 2008 is a good radio interview with the musical song choices (and funny moment talking about the conductor bringing her in for May It Be at the 2002 Oscars 'and I kept thinking, "pleeease make sure you're standing on the box", this is a lie.!' There was also the question from ECHO Awards in Germany 2016 about which 3 songs would Enya put on a playlist besides her own (Every Breath You Take by The Police and Avalon by Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music and she was not sure of a third one) and mentioning the importance of a strong melody ๐ผ
There were many written-only things too, lots on the archives for enya.org and enyabookofdays.com. I liked her straightforwardness in many earlier interviews and also her rather "chilled-out" A Day Without Rain interviews. ๐ "Smash Hits/"parsnips scream" c.1989 and 'From The Heart' (c.2005) were two that I can remember the main ideas/titles from, haha.
I have missed quite a few, and there must have been ones that I missed when they were previously available. What are some other Enya interviews and moments from them that you enjoyed?
