Intresting to see how badly the DSI album did in the US, despite a very expensive promotion campaign. It made Gold discs in Europe, Oz and Canada.

Hello from the one member Well, looking at US sales alone it seems like a tour would be useful; it seems like the 'average' American listener (not the forum members here necessarily) has moved on from Enya and typically associates her music with the 90s and 9/11. However, I have seen that she was amongst the 'most streamed pre-2000 female artists in 2021 in the US according to Rolling Stone' as this shows that she was the 4th most. ๐๐ต I think they will still continue with physical forms of the album (CD, maybe vinyl) but she continues to do rather well with the music, even more so worldwide. The beginning of the 'Deconstructing' article from 2007 is rather intriguing; I didn't know that about Nicky and Roma, somewhere else it said Persia and Ebony were born in the 1970s. I was wondering if they had ever been publicly photographed together. Also this Niall Morris seems a rather friendly 'reviewer', and honest about Eithne too, nice to read his perspective of her in the earlier days (mainly page 15 of the document) To some extent the 'not touring'/not doing concerts is due to Eithne herself. It does seem fair not to, because if her aim was to put forward generic popular music and make money from it, she might end up going too far with other things. Quote from here (Enya's response to a question in a 1989 French magazine) web.archive.org/web/20211206062423/http://enyabookofdays.com/articles/wm-15.htmIf running out of money was a concern she would probably be doing clothing lines, perfumes, and selling other merchandise like lots of celebrities (singers) seem to be doing, but that is not the case it seems, I rather respect that rather than making loads of money, the focus is on crafting the music. ๐๐ผ๐ถ

Ebony was born in July 1978; Persia in October 1983. This info is available in docs pertaining to a short-lived company they were involved with. In Moya's autobiography she said she lived for a short time with Nicky and his girlfriend Roma in their flat. IIRC this was in 1977. I'll double-check when I get home. (update: Per Moya, apparently all of Clannad were camping out at Nicky and Roma's flat in 1977! ) There are some pretty old pics including both Nicky and Roma, but I don't have precise dates for them. I'm confident at least some are pre-1980. (Or did I misunderstand, were you asking if Roma, Nicky, and the kids have been photo'd together?) I wish she/they WOULD focus on crafting some music! Perhaps they are, but we've not seen any confirmation yet. I don't see the blip in Hot Press last year as a major data point.

Interesting, thanks for the info ๐ So (in the article) this Niall appears to have forgotten or not known about Ebony then, he probably remembered more that Roma was expecting her daughter Persia at the time. Perhaps Yes, this was what I was asking (as in photos of the trio, with Ebony and Persia there too, that fans have been able to see). I also wonder if they came inside the studio from time to time as well. Maybe that was why the lyrical Enya songs came quite a few years later, as Roma would have been looking after a baby while Eithne was doing those earlier instrumental pieces. ๐ก๐น I have already seen various Nicky and Roma photos, and those earlier ones ( see these)

I've never seen a photo of the trio with Ebony and Persia. Or even a family pic of the Ryans with their two daughters. There used to be more pics of E & P as adults on social media pages (esp. Facebook). But they have pretty much withdrawn from SM, or are no longer using their real names.

'New' info ๐ก The beginning of the 'Deconstructing' article from 2007 is rather intriguing; I didn't know that about Nicky and Roma, somewhere else it said Persia and Ebony were born in the 1970s. I was wondering if they had ever been publicly photographed together. Also this Niall Morris seems a rather friendly 'reviewer', and honest about Eithne too, nice to read his perspective of her in the earlier days (mainly page 15 of the document) I just watched this video youtu.be/7oO6nfKe01Q and figured out that he (William) and Niall Morris are probably brothers; they often He visited the studio (at the Danieli Drive house) in the early days of Enya. There may have been another friend (mentioned in the video that he also played the saxophone). In this video, William's perspective of Eithne does bear similarity to Niall's, in that they he expresses that he and his friend found her stunning but also very quiet. ๐
He mentions rather similar things both times. He seems more friendly speaking about her, Nicky and Roma, though perhaps mistook Eithne's age for slightly older (he says 26-27; Deconstructing article says Eithne was 22, which fits better with the 1983 concert, etc.). There is this clip of a power cut that happened in Dublin, 2018 and Niall Morris is the credited name in the description. Since he visited the early studio, he has quite a good account of the trio at the time. A nice little discovery

He seems a bit more mellow about the whole thing, than in the the Deconstructing Enya article.
