There have been various directors for Enya's music videos:A lot of them still have some involvement in media. I wonder if any would return/ have returned to direct a new Enya music video? - Michael Geoghegan appears to have directed most of Enya's music videos. He directed various other music videos in the 80s (see this) and still does some videos nowadays.๐ฌ
- Tim Royes (1964-2007) tragically lost his life after being hit by a vehicle. These were the music videos he directed. Enya paid tribute to Tim the following year in And Winter Came, by dedicating the song Journey Of The Angels to him.๐ญ
- Graham Fink is probably my favourite of the directors [1][2] The music videos for Only Time and Wild Child truly enhanced the beauty of each song. His newer work is mostly 'drawing people with his eyes' - rather novel but I like his creative and innovative approach๐ก๐จ
I will add more ideas later; does anyone else have anything to add? ๐๐ฝ

There must be other music video directors who might also do some interesting work with Enya and her new songs. I searched the directors of some other music videos I liked. Here are a few 'new' directors and thoughts about particular videos (all of which I had only just watched in the last year ) - Andrew Whiston 'W.I.Z' (Clown by Emeli Sandรฉ)
This c.2012 video is rather well-considered and has some meaningful messages in video as well as the song. It seems to be about the idea of record companies using artists for money and their entertainment, and signing contracts. Apart from 'Anywhere In The World' inscribed in the walls behind (like Anywhere Is), none of Enya's music videos seem that similar. However, that sort of grayscale, contemplative style would definitely work well with a piano-based Enya song in future. ๐น - Julien Lutz 'Director X' (Gotta Get Thru This by Daniel Bedingfield) This one has recently been in my head, haha, and the video (UK version; both were by X, c.2002) is more amusing to me. (I also keep thinking the girl looks similar to Enya's sister Olive, and just as witty!) This particular 3 minute version features more scenes along the canal, the lift, etc.. The US version is okay but seems more generic, UK version has more interesting screen narrative. Trains and Winter Rains was also filmed in some of the same locations as this; around Canary Wharf and the Docklands Light Railway. ๐
- Zanna (Sleeping Satellite by Tasmin Archer)
This music video is one of the most fascinating that I have seen! The song was written in the late 80s, but filmed around 1992. I see similarities with Book Of Days (which was filmed the same year). Anywhere Is and Sleeping Satellite, of course (see this)โจ๏ธ There are more (almost to the point that the artists and others on the creative side had knowingly taken inspiration from each other ๐
). Lawrence Dunmore (the Enya logo creator, who also designed the Watermark album and Orinoco Flow single cover) did the graphic design for Tasmin Archer for her respective singles and album cover for Great Expectations too. It looks like Zanna hasn't directed many music videos since the 90s, but she is still involved in filmwork. That somewhat playful yet mysterious and vaguely supernatural setting is something that would be great to revive ๐คฉ

Other comments Rob Dickins (amongst many things in he music industry, luckily had Enya signed to Warner Music) cleverly made the video for On My Way Home, haha. He must have been envisioning Enya as the lady on the train eating chocolate from the Cadbury's ad possibly thinking of Mary's Boy Child and the Boney M members' outfits and the girls resembling little Eithne and her four sisters ๐ค I really like Enya's song Dreams ๐ฅฐ The video clip is insightful, though a video where Enya sings the full song would have been rather wonderful too. For the Watermark official video (the only one so far that I watched when it first appeared on YouTube ๐
) I wonder who designed it? They also obtained really nice footage of Malin Head, hills and waterfalls along the coast of Donegal ๐๐๐ฎ๐ช๐ I just found this nice cover which also features the scenery of Donegal, and similar video effects. I wonder about who the director K. Nakagawa may be, a lady or man? I searched the name, they are likely Japanese, but there is a footballer and scientific researcher, no sign of a music video director (unless they directed these two Enya videos as a one-off at Harrow School). I wonder when/how this girls' choir was formed? Haha, I'd quite like to join too, if they are continuing to perform with Enya ๐๐ต The videos are nice, neat but somewhat crowded, and the lighting/make-up in the official videos is perhaps a bit harsh. I rather find myself watching the other performance videos for Echoes In Rain (mainly the black dress ones) and the lyric video. I also watched the BBC Songs Of Praise version of So I Could Find My Way instead (not on YouTube anymore, but can be found here at least). Another thing I was wondering was who Entertainment Productions are; it seems like they are more or less the BBC productions.bbcstudios.com/our-production-brands/entertainment-productions ๐ (How Can I Keep From Singing probably appeared on a BBC programme ) Let's see how new music videos for Enya might surprise us

I hadn't seen this before! Michael Geoghegan is truly an artist, the videos he directed for Enya are, in my opinion at least, the most artistic and well-produced. I'll give one of his movies a go this weekend I think, if the music videos are anything to go on, then I have high hopes for his films as well!
And how fun that Rob Dickins produced one, and I must say he did a wonderful job too, with "On My Way Home"! "We can steer, we can near With Rob Dickins at the wheel" ๐

True, it is a fun idea that Rob Dickins directed the On My Way Home video, hopefully the 4K upscaled version I uploaded here has somehow done that justice ๐

Since this I have also wondered who would count as the directors for Na Laetha Geal M'รige and On Your Shore ๐ญ
They were filmed for the the late Val Doonican's 'Homeward Bound' programme, BBC (maybe 'Entertainment Production' too then) - I also just found this full episode on YouTube Maybe the musical director Laurie Holloway and producer Simon Hammond were more involved in the 'music video' side/arrangement here ๐ก It's a nice little Sunday programme, would still be suitable to see these re-aired today. ๐ค๐บ Some more Enya media (TV, radio) that the BBC has aired (most are of the Enya we all know) some that I am yet to see/hear (the Top of the Pops episodes are on quite frequently, but not the others so much) are in a handy programme list here Attachments:
