As most here might already know, there are three parts of Fairytale by Enya, all of which are played throughout the 1986 BBC documentary The Celts. ๐ก An extended version of the audio (with most of Fairytale 3) that I recently uploaded to YouTube is here. ๐ถ On the 1987/1992 version of Enya/The Celts, there is just the one version. It is the most clear version of the tune, most lively, though the other two are far more intriguing! ๐
๐ถ I also found out more regarding the story from Roma's liner notes for the 1992 release, and this bardmythologies.com/midir-and-etain/These are some of my own notes/interpretations (in the description of the video upload) regarding the 3 parts, and what they may represent in relation to the mythology:
I think it would be nice to have some newer threads regarding Enya/The Celts. Nicky Ryan mentioned revisiting this in 2021 when listening through all the albums up to Dark Sky Island, and the trio must've also revisited them for this year's vinyl re-release of A Box of Dreams. There's still a chance of hearing some new tunes by Enya this year! ๐ค
