I can strongly recommend รrla Fallon's 'A winter's tale' that was released just recently - gorgeous winter-themed music in English, Irish, French, Latin and instrumentals. Beautiful harps and tin-whistles.

I can recommend Secret Sky, and the last album from The Corrs : Jupiter Calling. And, although it's not directly celtic, I think (I don't have much experience with celtic music) : "Belerion" by Les Penning.

I have found something new : If you like classical music, you might perhaps like this : "Homecoming - A Scottish Fantasy" by Nicola Benedetti, a female violin player ( I don't know if that's the right exact term). She seems to play mainly classical music, orchestral music.
I came to that album via researching about Julie Fowlis, who had contributed to the soundtrack of the video game "The Bard's Tale IV". The album contains with "Mouth MUsic And tunes Set" something very "un-classical", but seemingly gaelic : It is what its title says.
As I am someine "from the continent", it is difficult for me to say how much gaelic Scottish culture and music is, because they have also been influences by the wikings, as far as I know. It is difficult for me to distinguish both Scottish culture and the cultures of other parts of the British Islands.

I have her album Alterum, and also Dual (collaboration with Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh) and Allt (collaboration with Zoe Conway). Still need to get her earlier albums. Reading this thread also made me think of TG Lurgan. From what I can work out they seem to be some sort of immersive Irish language summer school, but as part of the school they record covers of popular songs in gaelic - there are a whole bunch on youtube. The videos are of a professional quality and the covers are really well done. I especially love their cover of Africa - it just looks so fun! (many of their other covers too!). I guess not strictly Celtic in musical style, or a band, at least in the traditional sense, but still kinda cool!

Just came across the shocking news that the famous organist Catherine Ennis (the daughter of the late Seamus Ennis, from his second marriage) has passed away on Christmas Eve last year, after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 65. I had an honor to hear her live in concert only a couple of years ago (2019), when she played together with Paddy Glackin and Neil Martin as part of the Irish festival of Oulu, and she really was able to do magic with the organ! May Catherine rest in peace... Obituaries HERE and HERE . Also, HERE is a snippet from the concert I attended, with the wonderful piece "Easter Snow".

I didn't know her ... Sounds as if I had missed something ... Are there CDs with her music out there ?

Not sure Alrik, at least they didn't sell anything at that concert at Oulu Irish Festival... Though judging from the obituaries, she has played quite a lot other organ music as well, not just Celtic music... The strongest link to Celtic music is her late father Seamus Ennis, who was not only a friend but also seemed to be some sort of a mentor for the late piper Liam O'Flynn (who played for Enya as a guest musician).

I just found 4 different CDs on Amazon Germany. I think I'll put them into my "Wishlist" to keep them in my memory.

I had dinaklly (after so many years) bought myeself "Rowan" by Maggie Reilley (the singer of Mike Oldfield's "Moonlight Shadow"), and it seems to be contain traditiinal songs. I'm unsure, however, whether these songs are rather celtic or scottish songs ...

Last Saturday or Sunday I was listening to "Gach Sgeul - Every Story" by Julie Fowlis. I can't say whether that's still Celtic music, since she is a Scottish singer. But I can recommend her !
Her voice is very different from that of Enya or Moya, but she is imho a very strong singer in her own right ! What impressed me most is what is called "Mouth Music" on that album - syllables added together to form some kind of ... well, it is called "mouth music", after all ...
I know that in parts from Enya already ... Not much, but "The River Sings" seems to me the best example of "Enya music" I can find for that ...
However, it is very impressive what Julie Fowlis does !
On that album, she sings other soings as well, more songs with a real story. Slow songs. And I like that as well.
I came across her through a ... rather strange way : I had played the newest game of the "Bar's Tale" video game series. And it has a few songs which I liked very much. As I found out, one was by some female singer I didn't know about. And her name was Julie Fowlis. By accident, I found her to be on the album "Homecoming - A Scottish Fantasy" by Nicola Benedetti. I bought that album, and I listen to it from time to time. And it contains what is called "mouth music". That was my very first contact with that. Much later, I found out that the song that had impressed me from the video game, it was called "The Mavis of McDonald", was also on her album "Gach Sgeul". There, finally, I had found it ! And then, I became *very* impressed on what she did on the other songs of the album, too !

Scotland is one of the Celtic countries alongside Ireland and Wales; I think it would still count as Celtic music. I also like Julie Fowlis's music; I first heard of her from the Disney Pixar film 'Brave' (the songs 'Touch The Sky' and Into The Open Air:)

I like Cara Dillon, who is a folk singer from Derry. She became famous in 2002 with her version of the irish song "Black is the colour" and now is a stronghold name in the british folk music scene. A band that i have discovered recently is Capercaille with their wonderful scottish gaelic repertoir.

One of my fav current Celtic singer-songwriters is an American: Kyle Anne Carey, whose style has been labelled as "Gaelic Americana." "Kyle Carey (born 1988) is a Celtic Americana musical artist who creates a synthesis of music called 'Gaelic Americana'." from wiki -- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyle_Carey

I only know "Black is the colour" from Secret Sky. I wrote about them somewhere above. They were the support band of Loreena McKennitt. It's a nice album they made, imho. I just found out that Wikipedia even has a list of "Celtic musicians" : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Celtic_musicians
