This reminds me of our day trip to Montenegro while on holiday in Croatia in 2012, even Montenegrins do have their own timetable! Check it HERE !

Some years ago I visited a gig from Moya Brennan & Band in Limerick at Dolan's. To be honest I was quite disappointed. Don't get me wrong: The gig was great, she's splendid indeed and her band was great too. But: the gig was scheduled for 8 pm (entrance 7 pm). There was an opening act (her childred amongst them - very nice too), but this opening act did not start before 9 pm and once Moya entered the stage it was after half past 10 pm. Way too late for my taste. I was not in the mood of a concert anymore after this long waiting time. But maybe this is the reason why I don't go to gigs that often anymore. Obviously this beeing late from the artists on there gigs is very common these days ... This is what we call ‘Irish Time’. We take a ten minute break for fifteen minutes and return in half an hour! 😂 I know the "Irish Time" very well. I lived in Limerick for one and a half year (and visit Ireland at least once a year it's my island of my dreams). But I never got used to it, but usually I can deal with . Cheers

Reminds me of stories I've heard about the Florida Keys-Key West in particular-that they operate on their own sort of 'island' or 'Ireland' time....

As Moya isn't doing asnything very local to me, Ive decided to go to Pembrokeshire. As the venue does B&B, Ive booked in there for a short break and it'll be a short stagger home if they do overun. I'm guessing you lot would like to see any photos from the gig?

Just back from my trip to Pembroke. Excellent concert from Moya Brennan, family and band. Wide ranging set. Some new stuff from an another album of Harps and Songs, which is imminent, but yet to be mastered and released just yet. Some stuff from Canvas, some stuff from across her albums over the years, some Clannad and a fairly awesome medley from the Robin Of Sherwood music, which went amazingly off piste with the Ancient Forest. First time I've seen her live, hopefully won't be the last. It was the first date of the current British/Nederlands tour, so still time to catch them if your lucky. Oh and they also came on stage spot on time The Venue.

What a lovely concert review with gorgeous pics, thanks Richard! Gives me flashbacks for my 2008 and 2012 Clannad concerts here in Finland...

Thanks Suvi, sadly my phone's battery died before she picked up her Bodhran.

I think I would have enjoyed that. I love live instruments, and those harps would have been fantastic.

She(they) are superb performers. I would now tend to say her recordings are a poor shadow of her live performance. I think if someone thought her music was middling, they would still really enjoy her live.

Richard, do you know if her children are also in music? I recall reading something about that a few years back.

Richard, do you know if her children are also in music? I recall reading something about that a few years back. Yes they are, both Aisling and Paul join Moya on her Voices & Harps concerts and have also been augmenting in Clannad after Pádraig Duggan's death.

They are. Aisling is the one playing the guitar and Paul is sitting down playing keyboards, behind the harp.
