Moya is, of course, Enya's elder sister and a founding member of Clannad; she also has a thriving solo career. Her website is: www.moyabrennan.com

Having read Moya's book I have a great deal of respect for her as a person - she seems like that kind of person you'd like for a friend. I also have several of her albums, and while they are definitely good, my heart belongs to Enya music. But I do put Moya in the CD player from time to time - sure hope she doesn't mind

Moya's honesty in her book impressed me. There's so much in that book that she could have glossed over, but she put it right out there for everyone to see. I think that was very courageous. Something else that impresses me is how much she likes meeting people who come to see her, and how much she likes her young fans. I've seen her in Atlanta twice, and it's not an act. She loves children who come to hear her sing, she loves signing cds and talking to people. Her work on behalf of the Christian Blind Mission is wonderful. Moya is fantastic.

Moya is so very down-to-earth, and this makes her one very special person. She creates time for you (if she can) when you hear her sing in concert.
As Treecat sais, there is a lot of stuff she could have 'forgotten' about when writing her book, but she decided to go for it .... it's all there. It might make uncomfortable reading in places, but it's honest and straight down the line, and openness & honesty is a quality I always love.

I think Moya's "open honesty" is a quality that endears her to many fans. I was privileged to be at one of her online chats at her website, and it was a very exciting time for me.
I would say that success in the music biz has never "gone to her head."

I like Moya's music very much and I also like her live performances. She has a fantastic band with many talented musicians. I also have the impression that she is aware of how much people enjoy her music and that knowing this is important to her. She does not seem to talk to her fans just to appear to be a nice person but she really seems to be interested in the listeners' opinions on her music. Nevertheless she does not only make the kind of music that people expect her to make but she also tries new styles. I hope that she will continue making music for many more years.

I have heard that something is coming out later in the year, but it's a compilation based on the concerts she recently held in Europe. Nevertheless, it may be worth getting hold of even though I prefer an album of new music rather than different versions of existing material.

I enjoyed reading through her biography. It's funny, sad, and revealing. The photos were appreciated, such a glimpse into the past.

What do fans of Moya think is her best solo album to date?
I have some but not all of her CDs.

Her first one, Maire, is my favorite. The first three songs are an outstanding opening to the album. And, it has The Singing Brennan Sisters as backup. I like that. It's too bad she couldn't round up the full set for the album, but maybe there will be another chance in the future. She's the oldest sister.. she ought to be able to boss some people around.

I do have that CD, and yes, it's splendid - it's the one I play most often. Love the cover too The older sister sometimes is not able to boss a very stubborn younger sister around - I can attest to that.

For me, my favourite solo album has to be Whisper to the Wild Water. For some reason, whenever you hear Moya perform live, she seems to do songs from every album except that one.

For some reason, whenever you hear Moya perform live, she seems to do songs from every album except that one. This is my favourite album, too, it contains lots of excellent songs. In my opinion, Moya is very good at composing and performing Christian music, her songs are among the best I have ever listened to. It don't even think that it matters whether one believes or not. There is simply a great spirit in the music.
