I like Moya, I have some things in my collection that are Moya related. I haven't read her book all the way through, but what I did read was quite interesting. My favorite CDs are definitely Two Horizons and Signature, favorite songs are Black Night and Two Horizons.

As part of this years Errigal Arts Festival, Donal Lunny has been commissioned to write a special piece for this years festival. Dónal is performing with Máire, Mairéad Ní Mhaoinigh from Altan, and one or two other special guests in Donegal in July. I have no more information yet.

Please post as you find out information, and when you go to the festival, take your camera. I love Altan. I love Mairéad Ní Mhaoinigh's voice. I'm so glad they're still performing after all these years. I've got a copy of Mairéad and Frankie's first recording, which credits someone named Eithne Ni Bhraonain on the cover. ;D

I saw Maighréad Ní Mhaonaigh perform live in Derry some weeks ago to a very small audience of about 15 people. It was beautiful. She has a wonderful voice and is a fabulous ambassador for the Irish language.
She played the most amazing seven-string fiddle from Sweden decorated wildly with great swirls and painted detail and she sang 'Dúlamán' and 'Bríd Óg Ní Mhaille, tow favourites of mine.

Draoicht, when you go to the festival, can you please show us some photos? Have fun! ;D
I'm going to see Moya and the band at the Edmonton Folk Festival in Canada in August. It will be my first time seeing the whole band together, so I'm excited. Its also my first time in Canada ;D

I've read over at Moya's forum that she recorded an anthem for the Irish Olympic Team. The cd's to be released on Aug. 1st, and a video of her singing the song on a RTE tv program can be found on Y-tube. There's a link to the video in a thread over at Moya's. The song seems too busy to me and I don't believe she wrote the lyrics; however, it's says a lot about how highly Moya is regarded in Ireland to have been asked to do the recording.

I've heard the song, it's called Green and Gold. I think it's a nice song, but I like others of hers much more.

It's to be released as a single on Aug. 1, but I'm not sure if it's a physical release or just a download.

I like "Green to gold". Its melody is catchy and the sound is great, too. I don't mind that it sounds different from Moya's usual projects. One must consider that she hasn't written the song herself and that Grand Canal had probably a big influence on the sound. It was a very good idea to let Moya sing the song, she did it very well.

Talking of Moya doing an Olympics song I always thought TMOT had an echo of 'Chariots of Fire' about it....
