I like A Box of Dreams. It was my second Box - the first one was The Enya Collection - and the artwork is great. The sound quality really seems to be a bit better than original ones, but I think it worths just for the booklet. There are some beautiful texts (supposed to be and signed) by Roma, but just few Enya photos (3 if I'm not wrong), all different takes from past releases. But it is just over there that you can officially find "Enya" written with an "i" in oghan... If someone already has ABOD, is there any reason to think about getting The Enya Collection? I can't remember if there's a booklet or not, or if so, how extensive is it? I don't have this, but the Official Discography says this about it: Reissue edition limited to a single pressing. The enclosed book has also been updated.

If someone already has ABOD, is there any reason to think about getting The Enya Collection? I can't remember if there's a booklet or not, or if so, how extensive is it? Well, to be sincere, I don't no, I'm suspect. If you already have TC, SM and WM, the value is only collecting. There are 2 versions of this, the first one is from 1996 and brings the normal pressings of TC, SM and WM plus a 64-page booklet. There are only 2 photos of Enya there. The pages hold beautiful japanese-themed designs of plants, butterflies and birds, biography, japanese discography (all in kanji without any translation), and the lyrics for the songs of all albums (in kanji, no translation). For those luck ones, the first print of the first edition cames with a plastic white bag with the Enya Collection logo (I was a luck one! ). At that time in Brazil, I knew only other 2 of these, 1 without the bag. And there they enclosed an advertisement of the release of the songbook Enya Best Selection in kanji and sepia print. I will try to provide some scans, just for curiousity. The second edition also includes TMOT, but I don't know about the booklet or the bag. I bought this when I was an earlier collector, when I simply can't see anything with the Enya logo and not even ask the price. Now things are a bit different, I would think twice to do it. Maybe the Collector Edition of Amarantine was money better spent. But, for its rarity, it is, indeed, one of the favourite items of my collection. EDIT CORRECTION: The second edition (also know as "New Version") has not TMOT as I said.

Thanks Eternity. I have BOD and OT:TC. From what you've told me, I'd have to find The Enya Collection at a very good price to be interested in it. At the right price, it would nice to have, but it sounds too much like ABOD to spend too much money on.

I could answer this in a few ways. To the person that doesn't have very many Enya items (just the albums or a few singles), this would be a good item to have in your collection because it highlights a lot of important Enya songs and b-sides. To the collector, definitely yes. It's visually a very nice package. The booklet has a nice picture of Enya in it, is quite colorful, and overall well designed. The blue box is pretty. I'm one for visual appeal as well as content, so that's most likely why I was attracted to this item. If you are seeking one, I would recommend shopping around because I saw on Amazon not too long ago that the price for this item new is around 103.00! My jaw dropped. I was fortunate enough to find it used for 30.00. I've seen them go for not too bad prices on the marketplace recently.

I have this box set but I don't listen to it a lot as I have the tracks on other CDs. When I listened to it, I preferred the Oceans CD due it's higher amount of up-tempo tracks. The set is pretty much gathering dust nowadays in the shelf, but a nice collectible to have. The booklet has some pretty artwork and Roma's texts - I like it a lot.
I paid only about $20 even though it was new - thanks to some fault by the online store which went to bankruptcy later ;D

What do you think of it? I still haven't purchased this set. There are four parts, so I'll offer an opinion on each. 1) The booklet A worthwhile work of art in itself -not your standard album insert, but rather akin to reading Roma's poetry. Lovely calligraphy as well. 2) Oceans CD I have all these tracks. Nuff said. 3) Clouds CD Oriel Window, Morning Glory - and Willows on the Water; glad to have these tracks. 4) Stars CD I have all the tracks. This box set is for the collector imo, and the best part is the booklet.

Oceans ... Clouds ... Stars ...
If one was standing at a shore, this would be like looking up ...
First the Ocean, source of Clouds, Clouds, which rise and wander, wander up into the skies, where there are Stars.

IN the light of the question of Enya pictures, one of my preferred resources has been the website Enya.sk - I don't know anything about its sources but it has most if not ALL liner notes to every Enya cd out there (especially handy with the box sets!) and a load of Enya pictures, including photos taken at signings, major events etc etc. The owner is also a nice woman, who also puts on some of her own Enya wallpapers and some wallpapers/drawing provided by others who visit the site. As far as I know she does mention every resource, but you'd have to ask her. Overall, it's one heck of a wonderful resource site if you're looking for pictures and liner notes Love, Phantas
