Just gave the first listen to the newly released Secret Garden album, entitled "Storyteller", and like SG's all previous albums, this is also a real gem full of wonderful melodies and lyrics. I came across to some sort of a review (online) which complained that the music sounds all the same all the time, but then again, it is the trademark of them, and not a problem in my opinion! Geesh, when people learn to listen to things properly...?

I love 80's music, new wave/ synthpop and many artists and genres, which the list never ends. Recently I have heard a bit of pop from the Irish singer Lyra and accompanied the releases from Aurora. Among my top artists are Agnes Obel, Florence and the Machine, The Cranberries, Clannad, Loreena McKennitt, U2. My fave music besides from Enya is * U2
* Runrig
* The Cranberries (bought their final album about 2 weeks ago; it's called "In the End") * Journey * Bruce Springsteen * James Blunt (I saw him live in concert two times with my best friend; it was great!) * The Who (came to their music, because I watch "CSI: NY", "CSI: Miami" and, when it's on TV, "CSI: Cyber". All "CSI:" series have songs from The Who as title tracks) * Amy MacDonald
* Nightwish
Actually I love the Cover version of "Blue on Black" by Five Finger Death Punch feat. Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brian May and Brantley Gilbert. When I'm at home siiting on my laptop, I listen to a German Rock Radio station called "Rock Antenne". They play all sorts of Rock music, e. g. Journey, The Who, U2 and so on.

Time to admit it: I love Queen - and I don't mean HRM Freddy was quite the showman, and is missed by fans to this day, including me...there's been speculation as to just what musical heights Queen with Freddy still alive might have attained in these 28 years since his passing...

Apart from Brennan family-adjacent acts, my fave band of all time is good ol' Fleetwood Mac (a band with a storied history, to say the least). Apart from them, I love Dido, Basia, ABBA, Kate Bush, and a few others whose songs I like here and there.

Maybe, but then Brian probably wouldn't have got round to finishing his doctorate.

All members would have been given awards by Her Majesty. Perhaps honorary doctorates for outstanding contribution to popular culture and music. At some time, I'd think everyone would have gone off to do their thing and later reunite to record and then followed by another spell on the road again.

Just my opinion here, but, I think Brian May would have completed his doctorate in astrophysics with Freddy still alive, as I seem to recall the band taking time away from each other, especially Freddy.....

Just my opinion here, but, I think Brian May would have completed his doctorate in astrophysics with Freddy still alive, as I seem to recall the band taking time away from each other, especially Freddy..... All band members took time out from the band for a bit of fresh air. Roger was the first. Then Freddie, John and Brian. It wasn't such a long break away from the band. Roger called returning to the band like going back to mother. Freddie was away in 1985 for a bit. Then between 1987-1989. John did a bit of soundtrack dabbling in 1986. Brian released his solo post Freddie's era in 1992. I agree with you that Brian eventually would have finished his PhD in astrophysics even if Freddie were still alive. A bit of space in between albums is healthy so that individuals could chill out and do what they feel like doing instead of recording, touring, repeat the previous actions. Enya's complex recording structure is difficult to reproduce layered sound spared her from that. Her touring is mainly promotions, not full length concerts. I think she'd have gotten along pretty well with the old boys! Some things in common although very different in style.

Anyone here know much about Weyes Blood ( pronounced Wise Blood) and her real name is Natalie Merant (I think). Just got her Titanic Rising cd and find her music somewhat new agey. I bought it because she was described in an article as a "mix" of Enya, Karen Carpenter and George Harrison. So far the only track I really like is "Andromeda" and it's become an ear-worm. Several tracks are far too dissonant for my ears.

Well, we are going to see the Indigo Girls tonight, but I am not entirely happy about it. The venue is outdoors, and this is February--not the best for their voices and instruments OR the audience--and the seating is very limited, literally standing room only for most of it. We are going to try to get there very early (probably us and everyone else) to get one of the few wooden benches. It should be about 38F at concert time. Just ugh.
They came to the state a few years ago but I didn't know about it, in a better venue two hours away. I would definitely have gone then.
