A lot of good Irish music happened in the 90s... Sinéad O'Connor, The Cranberries, U2, Westlife, Boyzone, The Corrs, and of course Enya

In the hotel tonight, Himself is listening to a special on the history of ABBA. I love ABBA's music! However, the commentators can just stop with all of the "It's been 50 years since they met!" "Decades of enjoyment!" Shut up, you're making me feel OLD. Saw parts of the same ABBA special last night, was too sickeningly sweet how the commentators gushed about the group....just air the darn special without the gushing...

The commentators were hoping to make viewers donate. We do donate to PBS, but yeah, that was a bit much. I hadn't seen most of those videos and didn't realize Agnetha was a semi-recluse. Isabel, you aren't helping with the making me feel ancient!

Isabel, you aren't helping with the making me feel ancient! Riene, sorry for making you feel ancient... Last week my students called some of my music ancient. Most of them are 15 years old and I am twice their age. They called the following 'ancient': Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Westlife. And I compared it to their present day equals: Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and One Direction. * It is exactly the same, only a decade apart. *

Forgot until now, in that ABBA special, it was mentioned that Neil Sedaka and a lyricist friend of his translated Ring Ring from Swedish into English...

A random fact, listening to Nightwish, haven't I still managed to get anyone to listen to Finnish rock or heavy metal including Nightwish? Here's one of my favourite songs by them, the most beautiful The Poet And The Pendulum in their youtube site as a remastered version: m.youtube.com/watch?v=ta6AMS1XwlAA+ for trying aestas!

I've gotten an impression that you all got such good taste in music, could you give a "compilation" of what you like like a post that describes you as a music lover? I think that would be interesting, do you? I'd like to know so much!

I've discovered for myself a new ... electronica ? ... band from Ireland ... They call themselves Tiny Magnetic Pets (TMP) and the more I listen to them, the more I like them. They sound in part a bit like OMD. OMD, on the other hand, have started a thing for their Roadies, who have had big financial losses because of Covid they have almost nothing to do anymore. www.omd.uk.com/news/you-me-omd/

RIP Eddie Van Halen. I was never a huge fan of his, but he was an icon of my teenage years.

RIP Eddie Van Halen. I just know the one hit called 'Jump' by Van Halen. It is a catchy song.

Listening to some new music of Taylor Swift and Katie Melua. Taylor Swift released her eighth studio album, Folklore, on 24 July 2020. Katie Melua will be releasing her eight studio album, titled Album No. 8 on 16 October 2020.
Also listening to Apocalyptica, a Finnish symphonic metal band with their cellos. You Finns sure make weird music!

I like cello music such as: Croatian cellist duo, Luka Šulić and Stjepan Hauser. I was just in the mood for Apocalyptica's Metallica covers with cellos... It is different but good!
