So I still think that more than one track reflects the sorrow of death:
"So I Could Find My Way" "I Could Never Say Goodbye" "Remember Your Smile" "Solace"

A few years back I dug the same page up during a search. I came to the conclusion in private that it must be Nicky's Mummy.

For those who have a copy of The Frog Prince Soundtrack, look into the album inner sleeve, top portion of the right side, you will see Mona Ryan among the people thanked by Enya & Aigle Music.

I just realized that whenever I've had to say my favourite album I've said The memory of trees for reasons I said in the favourite album poll unless I forgot something but now I must say that both The memory of trees and Dark sky island are my favourites because though they're like night and day they feel the same, I wonder is it only me or if only people who's favourite album is The memory of trees notice it or if anyone notices. My favourite song on the album is Dark sky island, I love that sweet little melody though it's not always a song like that that's my favourite.

I think DSI had a certain flavour and feeling of the earlier albums. I tend not to be able to settle on a single favourite album, but I do think that DSI was the best album since TMOT. Looking at how DSI performed in the Uk charts on position and relative sales in the market((how it did compared to other albums; rather than raw sales), DSI was the best received album in the UK since TMOT.

So I wasn't imagining! The statistics support it too! Interesting! Also interesting that a lot of people (Brits at least ) also like them "the best".

I liked the album, but I rarely think of it. The only song I can ever remember from it "off the top of my head" is the one about the butterflies, although when I do listen to it I remember the rest.

Here's another one who loved TMOT and had it as number one favourite album... until DSI came along. DSI is just so cohesively immersive. It has flavours of every album, but the entire album feels as one, if you for example compare it to Amarantine which felt more disjointed. I just love the rich atmosphere of DSI, but TMOT had the same effect and feel in a way. TMOT was more earthbound perhaps tho, where DSI feels more spacious.

Phantas, I so agree! Like their colours The memory of trees is brown but Dark sky island blue but they're both "cohesive" in a same way for an Enya fan! I love that I'm not the only one who's noticed.

I think there are a few songs on DSI that are real Enya gems... I love The Humming, Astra et Luna and of course the title track. I love Dark Sky Island, the melody, how the vocal builds up, the references to the constellations... I would place it in my Top five Enya tracks.

I was listening to DSI on my Ipod of late and The Forge of the Angels came by. And suddenly, out of the blue, it struck me that TFOTA could be a slow version of Cursum Perficio. Both tracks share a similar, darker feel, even though their subject matter is vastly different. But in terms of timing of the music... I think if TFOTA was sped (speeded?) up, it would sound very similar to CP. Anyone else notice this?

I did listen to both closely after you pointed it out, phantas . The weird thing about Cursum Perficio is, that it sound quite similar to Carl Orff's O Fortuna... Maybe it is the Ominous Latin Chanting. * I bet if I played Cursum Perficio at the Stonehenge it would open a portal into a fantasy world... *

I'm sorry, I'm trying my hardest but I can't see the connection... I see the connection with a lot of Enya songs but I can't see the connection with this one...
