Damian did get back to me. And clarified who controls the domain...
That answers my main question. But I still hope to clarify what the brief "Moto Tours" site was about!

Now that's interesting - a bit of a shame that the trio don't own enya.com anymore, but at least we (probably) have the truth about it. True, it would be good to find out what that Moto Tours template was for, when it was around

So final confirmation that the Trio no longer own enya.com.

I'm pondering his offer to make Enya.com point to a fan site... At first I was thinking there wouldn't be much point of doing that, since it wouldn't be an official site anyway (and there is more than 1 good Enya fan website/page). ๐ After you mentioned this - It sounds a tiny bit more worthwhile, haha, although there would be no real agreement. Maybe a single page that has the links to the multiple working Enya fan websites might be handy, although someone would need to set that up.๐ก

On the other hand you could but one of these, probably much cheaper.

At first I was thinking there wouldn't be much point of doing that, since it wouldn't be an official site anyway (and there is more than 1 good Enya fan website/page). ๐ Here are the ones I thought of: VK.com/Enyamusic -- I'd love to choose this, because it has by far and away the most content, particularly pics and videos. Not monetized, and generally no ads. But, it's on a Russian social media site. Plus, if you don't have a VK account, you're hounded by pop-ups telling you to join. (You can close them and continue, but it's annoying.) Enya.sk -- Good content and nice design; not monetized and no ads; but last update was 2017. EnyaBookOfDays.com -- Lots of articles but not much else; not monetized and no ads; sadly, it hasn't been updated since 2011. EnyaOne.com -- A variety of content, though not many pics or videos; monetized and has ads. Those websites were what I was thinking of too They are all fairly good, but in different ways like you summarised. (I visit the VK Enya page without an account and true, there are lots of 'Sign up to view photos without restrictions' sort of pop-ups ๐
). Another rather good Enya fan website (also in Russian though) is enya-music.jimdofree.com/enya/It has more or less the same pictures as VK, some from enya.sk too I also like the page on the Jimdofree website where nearly all of the Enya tracks (from An Ghaoth รn Ghrian to the Dark Sky Island ones) are listed with track duration, single/album release etc.. ( Here) ๐๐ถ

Well, all that's rather disappointing. Not surprising, but sad, like the end of an era. I can't imagine them giving up their web presence like that if they intended to release more music.

I can't imagine them giving up their web presence like that if they intended to release more music. They haven't entirely given up their web presence; the social media sites are still about (just a tiny change recently was the cover/header photo on Facebook, Twitter and Spotify). It would be nicer if they had kept their own website, true, but they can still carry on releasing music successfully without one. Before A Day Without Rain there wasn't any website and the music did exceptionally well (in the UK, Shepherd Moons was a #1 album in 1991; Orinoco Flow was a top single in 1988). Some young people ('Generation Z') do like listening to the music their parents enjoyed (mainly from the 70s/80s/90s) some of which might even be discovered through their own findings, like Enya's music was for me There will still be new listeners of Enya's music in younger generations and in those to come. I'm quite sure Enya will continue releasing music, at least another new album or two. ๐ค๐ถ

Damian confirmed for me that he's planning a simple re-direct. The "they" in his email refers to a fan site admin.

I'm quite sure Enya will continue releasing music, at least another new album or two. ๐ค๐ถ Will any of the trio want to keep doing this stuff for that many more years? I'm thinking not only of the actual recording (which they've always said is very labor-intensive and time-consuming), but also of the traveling for promotion. The Trio are in their late fifties and sixties. I can see them doing the occasional special project, but doing intensive promotional touring, public appearances, interviews, etc? Nope. I'll happily be wrong, but I just don't see it happening. I'm not saying that they're "old" but there does come a point when you still enjoy your hobbies and keep tabs on your industry but retiring has big advantages, like being able to care for elderly relatives while you still have them, spending time with kids and grandkids, and traveling where/when you want to, and not having to meet deadlines.

following on Riene's post - I can see them cutting back on promo tours and promo appearances, but music? nah. I also don't see them NOT recording another album - idk if they are still under contract, nor what those contract details ensue. Enya in particular has had a few hard years - not only Covid, but the recent deaths in her family don't make it any easier.
That said, I still believe she/they will record another album. Whether or not that will be an album as Enya has always produced, idk. Perhaps she'll record something SHE's always wanted to do, or perhaps it will be their final album as the Trio / ENYA we remember.
I just do not see them sitting there and thinking: well, we've had a good run, maybe let's quit on a high and NOT TELL ANYONE. Again, they could, but it would be a hard blow to fans worldwide to just go and say: tough luck guys, but we're done. Especially after those hard years. I'd imagine those years would give inspiration, rather than take them away.
But, hey, that's just me speculating.

I just spotted your comment about their ages. Actually, Nicky is 76, Roma is 68, and Eithne is 61. Those are all good points in your second paragraph... I was going to say about their ages, the trio are a little older than late 50s now. Retiring early probably does have a few advantages, but that wouldn't really be applicable to them. Is it true that in America, women can start getting paid their retirement funds/pension at the age of 62? It is later in the UK and Ireland, the retirement age (no early payment unless retiring early, less paid) is 66 years old for men and women, and is set to rise across many countries in the future... Nicky and Roma might be more inclined to dedicate more time to their children and grandchildren. Enya on the other hand has more freedom of choice. She will be there for her mother, siblings, nieces and nephews and other relatives whenever she likes, which is still quite frequently. I think even Olive would stay in frequent contact with the family even from Australia. They all respect that Enya is very dedicated to her own music and would not try to bother her about stopping that, hopefully.

Well, enya.com is back...sort of. Since other site admins didn't respond to my messages, I asked Damian to redirect to Phill Callaghan's discography. This is a favo(u)r from him, and could change at any time. However, Damian noted he has "no plans for this domain until many years time." This seems sufficient proof Damian indeed controls the domain.

Though Google search has a couple of shopping ads trhat demonstarte why the Trio were insane to let the website go.

When I google Enya.com it no longer brings up reference to Enya.com, but a series Enya related material. The top of the page for me is the usual shopping ads, 50% were for Enya named underwear. Clearly pirate merchandise, because you'd freeze in them anywhere but the Carribean.
I noticed you'd suggested the link to Damian, but hadn't spotted that anyhting had happened till Phill's latest FB post.
