It would be most welcome if Aigle confirmed this A winning lottery ticket is also welcome ;D Just kidding, Aigle. You'll let us know when it's time. Maybe it's marketing brilliance. Warner and or Aigle lets everyone else do the marketing for them. Then, at the end of the day, they just only need to confirm it.

I doubt that there'll be new tracks on it....it will probably include most of the "hits" of the latest three albums. Let's speculate on the songs included: 01. Orinoco Flow 02. Caribbean Blue 03. Book of Days 04. Anywhere Is 05. The Celts 06. Only Time 07. Wild Child 08. Amarantine 09. It's In The Rain 10. Trains and Winter Rains 11. My! My! Time Flies! 12. Watermark 13. Shepherd Moons 14. A Day Without Rain 15. Drifting 16. The Memory of Trees 17. And Winter Came... 18. Boadicea Not in the preferred order but I suspect any of these to appear. Love, Phantas I will hereby add to my post some comments on why I chose some of the songs: 1. Drifting - it has won a Grammy, has it not? in any case ,I'd put it in as it was the only instrumental from Amarantine. 2. And Winter Came... - same story as Drifting, the only instrumental. I was puzzling which song would make it the final 18. However, it could well be that there will be only 16 songs, like PTSWS was. The rest seems pretty obvious, as it's mostly singles and promo singles.... Love, Phantas

I'm sorry, and I know I'm a minority with this feeling, but I hope they don't put "Drifting" on this album. And Winter Came is ok...it's not as boring...sorry Why can't the album have more than 16 songs? She's got more tracks out since PTSWS. I really hope it's not a repeat of PTSWS with one or two new songs which we already have. I hope they mix it up a bit more. Stop filling in the time with the older, short instrumentals and add something new and add more modern tracks from the newer albums. If they really wanted to do this right, it would be like said before, maybe a 2 disc set. If it included a video, that would be great. MMTF was mentioned at Unity...and I think that would be very appropriate! I also liked Treecat's idea of an album cover. That's one of my favorite shots of Enya. EDITED TO ADD: I didn't even think of this other contest before. The band Queen is having a greatest hits contest. This is what was posted on their MySpace: Coming in November – Queen will be releasing their ultimate one-disc greatest hits album! It will contain their 20 greatest hits. There’s an awesome competition/contest going on at Queenonline where we will be revealing the tracklist, one by one. Guess which track follows the next and submit your details. Correct entries will be collated and a winner will be selected at random for each track. It’s like 20 contests in one! Check QOL and this site daily to see who won and what great, new prizes are up for grabs. Additionally, there will be a bonus prize of a Signed Art Print for the entrant who gets the most tracks right. The contest is underway and the following tracks have been revealed, so get on over there today and start guessing… Track 1 is We Will Rock You. Track 2 is We Are The Champions Track 3 is Radio Ga Ga Track 4 is Another One Bites The Dust Track 5 is I Want It All Track 6 is Crazy Little Thing Called Love Track 7 is A Kind Of Magic Track 8 is Under Pressure Track 9 is One Vision How cool it would be if Enya and company did this??

I think a 2-CD set would be appropriate, given that over 20 years of music is being evaluated, and a video indeed yes! Totally cool, but I cannot see it happening.

The real interest in this compilation for me is seeing what tracks they select to go on it. How will they balance the older songs with the songs from ADWR through AWC? They could easily do a 2-cd 'best of' set, but I don't see that happening.
Since 2 new songs were done for PTSWS, I think there will be one/two new ones for this set. However, I don't think they'll shoot a video for one of the new songs, like they did for Only If...

I'm falling into the camp that there will be only one or two new songs on this album, and probably songs they've already done but didn't feel fit on earlier albums. Not that we'll ever know that.

Since only one video was done for AWC, I think Aigle, (or perhaps its Warner who makes the decision?) doesn't see videos as important marketing tools anymore. Which is too bad as T&WR had, the last time I looked, over 17,000 views on the YouTube Enya channel, considerably more than any of the other videos on the channel. It wouldn't be a hardship to hear a couple of songs that were left off of AWC.

Has anyone bothered to look at the home page of librarything.com? Librarything.com is a "what are we reading" information sharing site, not a 'what's up for publication next' site. The site calls itself an online bookclub. I'll paste some info from the homepage: # Join the world’s largest book club. # Catalog your books from Amazon, the Library of Congress and 690 other world libraries. Import from anywhere. # Find people with eerily similar tastes. # Find new books to read. Someone's probably playing from the PTSWS music book. Here's the librarything.com entry for Beach Music, published in 1995: www.librarything.com/work/2357Edited to add: I looked at other Enya entries at librarything.com. The cds and music books are listed, most often with the names of people who made the entries, with tags (music, celtic, Enya, etc.), an ISBN number on some of the entries, and maybe a short review of their own. This entry is made by Private Library, and I wonder if Private Library is a generic title used when someone wants to make an anonymous entry to the database? There's no ISBN number, no review. Could it be an early entry made by someone from Warner in prep for the best of release? Or maybe someone's having a joke on us? The Loreena McKennitt crowd maybe? Or, it's an entry for PTSWS and whoever made it didn't name it correctly and didn't add any extra information about it? Anyway, being curious, I've contacted librarything.com to see if they can provide any information about how and when the listing was made.

However, one would think that the webmaster at Unity would know about the "new release" thread and that Aigle would not want to relive the Sumiregusa disaster, and would thus tell us the rumour is not true. Well, one would think that....... Let us know what you hear from librarything.com

Kerry, I've just had a reply from Abby Blachy of libarything.com. She is one of the two site libarians. One question I asked her was about the Private Library label on the Enya entry, was it a generic term for 'anonymous user'. It turns out that people can keep their libraries private, just as personal references for themselves. I mentioned that i wondered if a Warner publicist could have made an early entry for the cd. I have to say her comment about lack of cover art and why would Warner not attach their name to the entry makes a lot of sense to me. Her reply:
Hi Treecat,
Thanks for the note. So LibraryThing is a social networking site for book lovers - and some people add music and movies too. Basically, members make lists of their books, or books they want to read, etc.
And some people keep their libraries private.
So I suppose it *could* be an entry by a publicist, but I think it's more likely not. If they were trying to start promotion, they wouldn't do it in a private library, and they would have included cover art, etc.
I think it's more likely that a member wanted to remember that the CD was coming out this fall, and so made an entry for it. But I don't know!
Best,
So, I come back to this still thinking this is someone's private entry for PTSWS (cd or music book) and that the word "Very" was included in the title in error.
As for an announcement by Enya.com, like the other announcements, I think it'll be made a little closer to the release date and when Warner and Aigle are certain the cd is ready to ship, and that any other marketing and promotion details are set to go (updated website, game, announcements to their affiliates). I believe Warner and Aigle would rather wait to make an announcement than to make one too early and then find there's some kind of hitch in things that cause a delay or cancellation. My 2 cents only.

I didn't had the time to reply to this *unconfirmed* news yet.
I also tend to believe that – if it’s a 1 cd deal - their will be only one or two extra 'new' songs. Although I keep having the “Amarantine Special Christmas Edition” in mind. 1 cd 'best of' and a separate 2d cd, for new material. Who knows what will be released… For all I know - with the speculated live shows, ect - is that we could expect ANYTHING to be released, as well as NOTTING being released.
If a 'Best of' is on its way, I hope TC is right: that they’ll use the MMTF promo cover. That cover art deserves more attention…
