The Swedish folk duo called "First Aid Kit" consisting of the sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg. They are like a young female version of "Simon & Garfunkel". I like the following songs: "My Silver Lining", "The Lion's Roar", "Walk Unafraid", "Wolf"

I have been hearing a lot of Elton John's collaborations on the radio at work lately.
Elton John, Britney Spears - Hold Me Closer Elton John, Dua Lipa - Cold Heart
Can't believe Elton John is 75 years old.

I listened to the latest album from Alan Parsons - The Alan Parsons Project had lots of hits in the 80s - and it sounds like some good pop music.

I should probably have a listen to more of the music from the Alan Parsons project. Somewhere I found out about it because of how Amarantine by Enya sounds similar to this part of the song 'Silence and I' 💡🎶

I really liked The Alan Parsons Project and still listen to them. I had no idea they had another new album out. I wasn't thrilled with Gaudi and drifted away from them at that time. Thanks for the update!

At your service ! Since Eric Woolfson died in 2009, Alan Parsons "does his own thing". But that doesn't mean that it is bad; it is just more pop than the Project was. The Project's best albums are imho the first ("Tales"), Eye In The Sky, and The Turn Of A Friendly Card. If you are looking for more material, then look out for the remasters. Eric Woolfson did a few nice albums, too. On a different topic : I read today that Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac has passed away yesterday ...

Käärijä is most likely going to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest this year (the voting hasn't started yet but it's way more popular than the rest based on youtube views and stuff) and because of that currently Finland is in the third place in the official list of which country will most likely win (the list is in the Eurovision Song Contest website and the list is from those who officially give you an idea of what country is most likely to win so you can place your bet based on it.) The third place so far! It started lower but it keeps getting higher! Yay! I also love this song! The song is a mix of heavy metal (I love heavy metal and rock music like Finns do but oddly Suvi here doesn't ) and techno maybe? (I love techno too! ). And rap! (which I also love!) It's ironic and serious at the same time and it's a party song of a lifetime! I love how towards the end the song turns into a completely different song! Here it is, as an audio version: m.youtube.com/watch?v=KGFkMD2zotUAnother song that's trying to represent Finland in the Eurovision this year that I also love is a serious one (it's not a little ironic like Käärijä's song), it's a gorgeous song which is kind of a rock song, it's Ylivoimainen by Kuumaa. The melody of it, OMG! Here it is as an audio version: m.youtube.com/watch?v=p-xcBtYRpwcBoth of the songs are in Finnish and you need to listen to the whole songs from the beginning to the end to see how great they are! A lot of other Finnish contestants too!

Interesting, 🪷aestas🪷 - the 2nd song link reminded me of the Robbie Williams song Millennium, because the songs both pinch the tune from John Barry's James Bond piece You Only Live Twice: youtu.be/YDD3Qi23BX0 😄🎵 I also like songs by Robbie Williams and some by Take That. Echoes In Rain mixes well with TT's song Patience ( listen here🪄) and both Enya and Robbie have a song called Lazy Days (and sort of similar Angeles and Angels) That also reminded me of this funny story bigwiglaf involving them being sedated by Roma, and Enya joining Take That

You hear such similarities? I just think that it's cool that according to the official Eurovision people (there's a term ) Finland is currently the third most likely country to win the entire Eurovision song contest (it keeps rising!) , mostly because of Käärijä's song which will most likely represent Finland (not the song you hear similarities with). I love both of the songs I mentioned!

I was able to attend a concert, which was truly a "once-in-a-lifetime" achievement for me : The Genesis tribute group called "The Musical Box" reconstructed the Genesis tour for their albm called "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" from 1974/1975. They are the only ones who are allowed ti use actual Genesis instruments and all the slides used for the original tour. That was in december 2022 ... and I was already catching a cold, so I could endure it only meanwhile excessively using chewing gum and sweets to subbpress my coughing ... But it was totally worth it ! I'm actually glad that I have some kind of "graphic memory", so I could store pictured from the concert in my mind. It was just great ! And I knew every song ! I bought a book in German language which does a great job of analysing the whole album. Which is very difficult to interpret anyway, the album. And, to round it up, I bought the album for the very first time on vinyl last Monday ! Before that, I had known it - as vinyl - only from the younger brother of my mother, who introduced me to it when I was a teenager. And I was so much totally blasted away by this new kind of music ! Until then, i couldn't / didn't imagine that music like this could exist ... Now I know that in the "Progressive Rock" area, people were wildly experimenting in the 70s ... And, I think, that Strawberry Fields by the Beatles and similar songs by them brought me there ... to this kind of - to me - "new music" ...

Talking about Finland's most likely Eurovision contestant, someone posted this shortish clip of Käärijä performing his song live and I almost like it more live! I love both the studio version and the live version so much but this live version is so good and the crowd is feeling it! m.youtube.com/watch?v=w1Afa3mIO2w

Speaking of Finland's ESC candidates this year, I'm sad to say I don't like any of them! For me they are "just" the same rather generic mainstream hit music as none of them stand out. None of those songs speak to my soul, unfortunately...

(Especially Käärijä, it's a mix of so many things) I don't think they're generic mainstream, they're special! But agree to disagree. ☺️

I think it's because I seldom listen to the radio, and never stations like YleX, City, Groove, NRJ, Loop, and the like! Just because when you hear something on one of these stations, it is very likely that if you switch to another of these stations, you might hear the same song again! Radio Classic, Radio Kaleva and Nova are therefore my choices from Finnish stations!

So Käärijä did win as was expected and will represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest this year. Yay! I love the song so much and how it's a mix of so many things, heavy metal, electronic music, rap and the greatest party song ever! Here's he's performance where he won in the contest of who will represent Finland. It's the first full performance that's available and I mean it when I say that it's the best representation of the song so far, it's so good! Currently Finland is in third place of which country will most likely win the Eurovision song contest this year but after Käärijä won it's still in third place but the percentage is higher! Yay Käärijä! m.youtube.com/watch?v=rJHe-iZ5HSI
