I'm currently playing a video game very often - and love its music ! Unfortunately it isn't available on CD, only through YT or Spotify, I think ... But it is often so beautiful ! With full orchestra ! ... Which is a rare thing among video games ...

I have to say one more thing about Kรครคrijรค who represents Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest this year... ... ... ... Okay! Two more things! The international Eurovision fanatic news thingy Wiwibloggs asked who should win the Eurovision Song Contest this year and the people voted that Kรครคrijรค should win! Yay! Also, the official Eurovision people (remember those that I mentioned? ) who give you the odds of who's going to win now think that Kรครคrijรค is in second place (last time it was on third). We're getting there!

Zohra was a Kabyle singer (from Algeria, but also lived in France) who shared many similarities with Enya (probably coincidentally, but I like to think there is some sort of spiritual link) ๐๐ญ๐ถ It is very tricky to find a main information page on her music (no Wikipedia page, but YouTube, some documentary-type videos and various Facebook comments in French have been helpful)
I explained/expressed a bit more in this Twitter thread (and a comment on the video below) ๐ค
It is a very beautiful song ๐ฅฐ The above YouTube upload is my favourite, sort of similar to Storms In Africa (or I thought so, making a lyric video around the time I found it, here )
Also on Spotify (I doubt it is explicit, like the Midnight Blue instrumental by Enya is labelled on Amazon Music ๐
) with a different title/version) by Zohra here (6 minutes long; rather pleasant to listen to) ๐ค Most of Zohra's songs (the lyrics were written by her, but not many translations) are more culturally related, more speaking of social injustices, feeling so separated from peers etc.. I sometimes think that Eithne, if she had to write the lyrics herself, would be inclined to write along those lines. Very much like not immediately knowing the words to Enya's songs in Gaeilge, there is something wonderful and meaningful simply listening to the music itself๐ผ๐ Very sadly, Zohra only lived for 33 years (she died from injuries in a car crash in France, often regarded as the Kabyle Diana from that ). Still, in her short lifetime, she released around 3 albums, possibly comparable to the amount between Enya's albums The Celts, Watermark and Shepherd Moons, and a similar timeframe.
Perhaps someone here might find this interesting I only discovered Zohra's music earlier this month, and despite the sad story and life she led, I am very glad that I know of her now ๐ถ๐

I was recently listening to the box set "Genesis at the BBC". I liked that, it contains old and new songs.

I've become a fan of the classical violinist Janine Jansen, whose take on Tchaikovsky's violin concerto blew me away. I've been busy buying her CDs - yes, some of us still buy CDs!

I was sad to see the pianist George Winston died this past week. I own most of his CDs and had the chance to see him in concert several times. He will be missed.

I ONLY buy CDs ! Recently, I bought a few CDs of the band called "Renaissance", and one of the band named after the author Jethro Tull. The CD album has the unlikely name of "Rรถkflรถte". And, of course, Tubular Bells !

An Icelandic indie folk/rock band called "Of Monsters and Men". I like the following songs: "Mountain Sound" and "Little Talks"
"Channel X" a New Zealand classic alternative music station is frequently playing these. We listen to a New Zealand music station at work in South Africa.

Any other Swifties here? I'm OBSESSED with Taylor Swift. I'd say I'm her biggest fan but I only became a fan recently so I must be the 2nd biggest fan. ๐ I love Taylor Swift so much, I'm listening to her right now like I often too. I love all other kind of music too! You'd love some recommendations of Finnish music too. ๐
Taylor Swift is everywhere right now too! But I loved her before all the hype!
Listening to Celine Dion right now like I have since the year 1997, Iโve loved Celine Dion since then. โบ๏ธโบ๏ธโบ๏ธ
Unfortunately she sufferes from a disease now... Hugs and kisses Celine, I've always been your number one fan, I mean it. ๐๐๐

I mean it when I say I'm Celine Dion's number one fan... Before her I only liked classical music, I've loved her since the year 1997 when My Heart Will Go On and Titanic came out. After her I started to like all kinds of music.

I'm a fan of Celine Dion and Taylor Swift, each celebrated for emotional performances and enduring ballads, and chart-topping hits with universally relatable lyrics, respectively.
Additionally, I appreciate Adele, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, captivating with soulful vocals and emotionally charged ballads, along with Lana Del Rey, the enigmatic artist crafting a dreamy atmosphere with haunting vocals and nostalgic themes, and Neil Diamond, the iconic singer-songwriter leaving a lasting legacy with timeless hits and a distinctive voice resonating across generations.
Florence and the Machine, led by Florence Welch, and Bjรถrk are recognized for their unconventional and unique musical styles, featuring experimental sounds and artistic expressions. Florence and the Machine blend indie rock, baroque pop, and soul, creating a theatrical and ethereal atmosphere, while Bjรถrk, the Icelandic avant-garde artist, is celebrated for her innovative incorporation of electronic, experimental, and avant-pop genres.
