It would be nice to have a song in a language that hasn't been used before, yet as long as the language for a song is determined by music and anrrangement, the Trio would have to step into a new musical direction or theme. For some reasons I think that they may go slightly more "south" this time โ a step closer to the Mediterranean flavors, which may go hand in hand with reflections on existential subjects and timelessness. So I can imagine a song with words in Occitan, Old Italian, maybe ancient Greek, or even Persian โ to reconnect with the mariner's story behind "Ebudae", mediaeval pilgrims, ancient poets, and the fabulous paintings of Maxfield Parrish, and yet sonically explore some uncharted regions.

It is great to hear that Warner will be getting enya.com back, a likely sign that a new album or some new music from Enya is on its way soon ๐๐ช๐ถ I also agree with Versatis that there may be a more warm, Mediterranean feel to the album, possibly including languages that we haven't heard Enya sing in before. It would be fitting if there is at least some Gaeilge (Irish) again in her songs too. ๐ค ๐จ If not in purple (like the Moonbow one I created, here) the cover design/theme will possibly feature more orange/yellow/gold ๐ก I think it will be this November ๐ฎ

I often have some ideas of how the new music composition-wise might sound ๐๐ถ However, it would be tricky/time-consuming (Enya would probably release the album by the time I'd complete it) to re-create those musical concepts more elaborately ๐
๐ผ I think there it will generally have a more orchestral sound (a bit like film scores) - or like Enya's early 2000s releases such as Anรญron or Isobella. I imagine that the compositions, if comparable to previous Enya albums, will be most similar to A Day Without Rain, but with more full/rich string sounds, perhaps less reverb and vocal layers than usual. ๐ป๐ฃ๐ถ Another thing I also think could be happening is a deluxe track which is a reworked Enya tune from before - as in how The Spaghetti Western Theme from The Celts in the late 80s was added to (with Enya's highest recorded notes) in the Amarantine bonus track release in the mid-2000s. Possibly even like how (I think) Enya's composition Third Man for The Celts musically seemed to develop into The Humming for Dark Sky Island (also that sort of full, sort of dramatic sound). Also some effects we haven't heard from Enya previously, considering the newer studio equipment since. ๐ก Then of course, something to do with Oriel Window; I could imagine it as a song with some daydream-y lyrics. ๐ช

I would love it if she did a follow-up to Enya/The Celts. A album dedicated to that realm of things! โฅ

That would be rather interesting to see a follow-up to Enya/The Celts, as in another more instrumental-type album ๐ผ๐ถ๐ช I'd like to predict such a release perhaps 2-3 years after the main new album is released.๐ฟ๐ฎ For example, the next Enya album this year or 2024, and a largely instrumental album or EP in 2027 ๐ถ๐น๐

It kind of relates to the ideas that I mentioned in this: For the new album, I suppose that theme-wise it may be quite reflective of the past 3 years, with a few flights of fantasy sprinkled in (like how Orinoco Flow imagines traveling the world, and to lands beyond 'to the lands I've never seen'). Nature will also be an important aspect, and it may be that some positive aspects are discussed in light of the way the world kind of slowed down during the pandemic. I remember this news story about the waters of Venice becoming clear enough for fish and dolphins to be seen, and swans also returned, as there were less busy boats and paddles, so that the sediment remained undisturbed. Something playful in the lyrics, a bit like My! My! Time Flies!, for a single perhaps. Production-wise there are more possibilities; I think the recording process may be similar to the last few albums (also with the ' golden microphone' so likely fewer layers than the early albums) but with newer equipment, which may enhance things in some way. I doubt Enya would wish to feature a heavily auto-tuned voice, but instead some new vocal layer experiments. I don't really know how it works, but maybe the volumes of layers might be done with more variation (like a vocal that started lower in the mix rising to the lead vocal, something like that?). Some new experimentation, originality in a fairly unusual way, like with Enya/The Celts. ๐ถ There may be a similar 'range' of songs to A Day Without Rain and kind of Dark Sky Island - the upbeat or buoyant pieces (Echoes In Rain, Wild Child, Diamonds On The Water, Lazy Days), something reflective and comforting (Only Time, So I Could Find My Way) the 'slightly mournful high note reminiscing' songs (I Could Never Say Goodbye, Fallen Embers) and some with a prophetic or guiding message (The Humming, Solace, Pilgrim). ๐ A song in Irish/Gaelic of course, something that has been missing from Enya's repertoire for a while, and would be very fitting to make a return, especially if family relations/connections will be a theme. The instrumentals will perhaps be more like Shepherd Moons and The Memory of Trees with piano, even the early ones like The Solar Wind, the Frog Prince compositions. The nostalgic feel that Watermark has may be more prominent in the new album, too. I think with the compositions by Eithne there are different things to consider, and it is ultimately whatever inspires her at the time of writing. It's something worth considering that no matter how hard a composer tries to avoid it, some melodies will still sound like something that had existed before. ๐
It's not exactly plagiarism, but 'subconscious inspiration', and that's usually fine. I do hope that at least 1 new song will be in Eb major like these ๐ An interesting key change or two might be something, and a very catchy rhythm or motif in a few songs. ๐ผ In relation to the album cover, I suppose orange is most likely, followed by purple, which is a mix of red and blue. ๐จ

My dream Enya album would be something inspired by Cornwall. Her music always takes me to the Cornish coast maybe, to some extent, because of the Celtic themes and also because it feels like the perfect soundtrack to the many magical features in the area. There's plenty to be inspired by - the rugged coastline, the turquoise sea, the abundance of standing stones, Tintagel Castle, the Minack Theatre, the Longships archipelago and lighthouse, the lighthouse at Wolf Rock, so called because it howls when it's stormy because of the wind passing through fissures in the stone, the St Ives mermaid, old tin mines dotted around the county, some of these buildings (the engine house of Botallack Mine for example) in locations where you'd think it impossible to build something today, let alone back in late 18th century. Then there's Jamaica Inn and nearby Colliford Lake and Dozmary Pool with their connections to the legend of King Arthur and the sword Excalibur... all near the Hamlet of Bolventor which sounds like it could be the name of a dramatic instrumental piece remeniscent of Cursum Perficio. The album cover could feature Enya in an elaborate Celtic themed gown, standing under stormy night skies on the causeway that leads from Marazion to St Michael's Mount as the incoming tide laps around her ankles.

Interesting, though admittedly I think Cornwall is rather overrated as a seaside holiday destination in the UK. ๐
I think that Enya will stay closer to home, i.e. in Gweedore, regarding particular places that could be mentioned. ๐ค Perhaps some warm, tropical themes, but probably not as specific as Sark Island was for Dark Sky Island. Even so, she has no experience of the island; the clear night skies in Donegal must've been a stronger inspiration yet. ๐ Something with a similar longing/yearning feeling to Watermark, nostalgia of some sort. ๐ถโ๐ซ๏ธ This may be an unpopular opinion but I'd prefer less of the common 'love and heartbreak' lyric themes, unless it was more closely linked with someone's passing or absence. Think 'replace Flora's Secret with Isobella on A Day Without Rain' Also I would agree about a more 'striking' instrumental piece ๐ผ like piano in a style similar to An Ghaoth รn Ghrian, Oriel Window, or even something like Enya's playing on Charlie McGettigan's song Bailieboro and Me. Free-flowing yet powerful playing. ๐น๐

Something rather cinematic, a bit like the sound of May It be and Anรญron (with an orchestra) but also something synthy, perhaps with a strong, memorable bassline, a bit like Boadicea (another humming song or two definitely ). Maybe even a spoken part by her, like in Sinรฉad's song Never Get Old. ๐ญ I also wonder if Enya would ever do an 'acoustic' (or more like 'unplugged') version of any of her songs? ๐ก๐ถ (Piano rather than guitar perhaps, and sisters on backing vocals?) ๐ฅฐ๐ผ

Ok, and? We've all thought of this before. If you're just trolling to get a reaction from the folks here, it won't happen.
