It's more new release than new album, but I wonder if Enya has recorded/would record any more Christmas songs? 🎄 I mentioned once that In The Bleak Midwinter would be nice to hear from her. Also The Angel Gabriel is something that would be rather interesting to hear Eithne cover. Another (3rd) Oiche Chiúin recording perhaps? Silent Night is a beautiful hymn, and she sang it wonderfully 💕 (even live in this TV clip )

My idea would be to see (listen to) all her contributions of the movie "The Frog Prince" to be re-released. If I understood that correctly, then what appears on that album actually isn't even her full, original work ...

My idea would be to see (listen to) all her contributions of the movie "The Frog Prince" to be re-released. I would also like if Enya's Frog Prince contributions were to be re-released, yes and The Celts extra tracks 🎶🪄 That is probably true, though it seems that the trio hadn't fully finished the arrangements anyway (but the main tunes are theirs, I believe). The score was re-arranged and re-orchestrated for the film, but for some reason the two songs Enya recorded (Dreams and The Frog Prince) apparently didn't make it to the film, just the soundtrack. I think The Frog Prince also got a different instrumental to Enya's work (the drums perhaps) but her song Dreams (according to this clip, Nicky also producing) seems quite like Enya's work (just that Charlie McGettigan wrote the lyrics instead of Roma. I also really like this early song Eithne recorded with him in 1982, Bailieboro and Me.) If The Spaghetti Western Theme from The Celts 🤠 originally recorded in the mid-80s, was re-released in 2005 (with the addition of Enya's highest-pitched vocals heard so far) then something else 'rare' could be revisited for some new release. (Still, The Humming sounds like an impressive evolution of 'Third Man' to me! 🌌🎼 )

Regarding the colours again, I kind of imagine a light blue, if not purple or orange. 🎨 Some random ideas for the title (something linked to) The Solar Wind, Moonbow, the phalanx, a drop in the ocean, autumn leaving 🔮

Some of the ideas I had are just brainstorming, and after a while I think "maybe not" but this one has certainly stayed inspired by the early piano piece by Eithne ('An Ghaoth Ón Ghrian', or 'The Solar Wind', which I'd love to hear a re-recording of. My first YouTube upload ( here) featured the audio of An Ghaoth Ón Ghrian, but kind of 'smoothed out' as if it were remastered.😁💡 I really admire this piece 🌟🌬🌌🎹 and it seems fitting to include it in a new Enya album in some way, whether it be a re-recording of the instrumental, or incorporating elements of it into a new song.🤗

I was listening back to this one:
and thought it would be a nice B-side tune for Enya to rework, maybe with more optimistic verses towards the end. 😌🎶💭💗

Not so much ideas for a new album persé, but... just something fun and wishful thinking...(note: titles are made up)
Album name: Eternae
album colour: Sand
Cover: Enya standing on a beach, the sea behind, looking directly AT you wearing a simple, white gown.
Tracklist:
01. On Gossamer Wings 02. Lux Albus ( = White Light) 03. Is Cuan é Mo Chroí (= My Heart is a Harbour) 04. A Midnight Moment (instrumental) 05. Once You Said Goodbye 06. Forgive and Forget 07. Síul ar an gCladach / Seaside Ditty (= A Walk Along The Shore) *a pairing of song and instrumental* 08. Driftwood (instrumental with vocals) 09. You Are Not Here 10. Loxia Suite -a : A New Home -b : Green are the Fields -c : Light in the Water -d : To the Stars (Ad Astra) -e : Love is the Gift 11. Forever (Eternae)
=====
Track 1 On Gossamer Wings - On Gossamer Wings is Enya's tribute to her father, and a memoir to his passing. Unlike previous albums, this is more of a ballad, but quite an emotional and an important one. It takes center stage as the first song
Track 2 Lux Albus - A re-invigorating Latin track meaning White Light, continues a theme of hope, love and light which started with the first song. However, the Latin gives it a mysterious feel, but this track has a hopeful and lighter tone than earlier Latin songs.
Track 3 My Heart is a Harbour - My Heart is a Harbour is Enya digging deep into her roots, not just by the use of Gaelic but the feel of the song has that Irish Ballad type of feel. Something she hasn't really done before on her albums. Slight reminisce to Remember Your Smile from DSI
Track 4 A Midnight Moment - track 4 is the first instrumental on the album, and it is a relative short one, lasting about 2 and a half minutes. A simple piano track, reminiscent of her early works.
Track 5 Once You Said Goodbye - Once You Said Goodbye holds the middle between a down tempo pop track and a soft ballad. It's mellow and somewhat moody, but uplifting at the same time.
Track 6 Forgive and Forget - Forgive and Forget is another pop song, with reflecting lyrics on relationships and knowing when to let go.
Track 7 A Walk Along The Shore / Seaside Ditty - This has Enya pairing a song ánd an instrumental together, which she has not done before. Seaside Ditty is a reworked version from The Celts, a previously unused track. A Walk Along the Shore is another Gaelic song and an upbeat, light and airy track. The entire ensemble has a sense of whimsy and lightheartedness.
Track 8 Driftwood - Track 8 is another instrumental. Where Seaside Ditty is short and light-tempered, Driftwood is moodier, dreamier and because of the addition of Enya's vocalise skills, sets a mystical, dreamy tone.
Track 9 You Are Not Here - Another ballad with light pop elements. A somewhat sadder song, a sister to On Gossamer Wings but from a different perspective.
Track 10 The Loxia Suite - Returning to Loxian for the third time, yet this has a stamp of finality on it, as if to say that this is the final installment of Loxian on Enya's albums. Given the nature of Roma's concocted future Celts, the scale of the Suite ranges from them arriving on their new homeplanet to them continuing to look at the stars and telling their stories. 10a, 10d and 10e are notably strong sections of the Suite: A New Home, almost sculpting a world out of nothing; To the Stars (Ad Astra) infuses Loxian with Latin tones, yet remains mysterious, ominous even and hearkens back to DSI again, whilst Love is the Gift feels like a re-imagining of WSTHH: poetic, moving and epic without sounding BIG. A true masterpiece.
Track 11 Forever (Eternae) - The final track on the album (also the title track) continues Enya's penchant for Epicness in music, with big soundscapes, masterful build ups and soaring vocals. One can't help but feel if this is indeed her final album and her final masterpiece....
Dunno where this all came from but I had something hanging around in my head for a few days.... couldn't shake it.

That's quite impressive to come up with this comprehensive album concept and tracklist phantas !👏 I could definitely envision that cover photo, especially the setting on a beach/near shores, Enya's 'direction of gaze' (looking up sideways is another idea), and a flowy light-coloured dress. 😊 The sand theme makes me think of A Day Without Rain, specifically that summer bit of the music video for Only Time. 💡I'm still thinking #purple or orange, or like the Pantone colour of the year, peach fuzz, haha. Certainly something warmer-toned than the colour scheme of Dark Sky Island. The name certaintly signifies a closing album, the last in the discography, but the music really is forever. 💭🎼 I'm imagining some 'ancient-language' (Latin, Greek) kind of title, or a natural phenomenon (solar wind, moonbow 🤗) As for the songs, I like the idea of 'sister songs' for the 1st and 9th tracks. I kind of wonder if the trio thought of this (within the same album) with some previous songs. For example, Marble Halls and Evacuee, which features that same theme. Tempus Vernum running into Deora Ar Mo Chroí too, although both sound good independently. Those instrumentals 'sound good' The ideas of course, and another 'triad' or 'suite' would be rather wonderful! Seaside Ditty is probably my favourite 'extra' track from The Celts too It would be great to hear a re-imagining of it too 🏖🎶

As for SeAside Ditty, the name actually kept coming back to me without making any sense, and I found out it was an extra track so it kinda changed the direction I went in And the title of the album eluded me for a LONG time... even went with a different one at first whilst working on this... and then the last track just signified something. It wás difficult to do cause I tried to step as much into Enya's (and partly Roma's) shoes as I began. Trying to come up with songtitles that would befit their catalogue properly was... well... HARD. It's easy to get lost in simple stuff like moon and dreams etc, but with their songtitles there's always this element of literacy, timeless feel and even with somewhat mundane titles there's still a more elegant twist to them. I tried my best as well I could but I probably could do even better if I had given myself a bit more time LOL The colour chosen... at first I went with purple as well, but I felt after DSI, it needed something lighter. Trying to choose a colour that she hadn't already used... and then suddenly, there it was. the theme of the album being more water-linked, it was easy to go with a sandy colour. She hasn't really used that (there's the murky brown on the Celts) but also it tied in so well with much of her repertoire. On Your Shore came to mind and then I came upon sand by association. I started off not thinking of this as her last, but somehow going with that idea of being the final album also made it easier to put songs in perspective and have both simpler as well as more epic, bigger songs. I suddenly also notice that the album is sort of Enya reversed: starts off simple then is very epic and big at the end. Yet, again, seems kinda fitting. I heistated about using Loxian again, what with all the Gaelic and Latin already there....but somehow it felt WRONG not to use it one more time. As if the cycle wasn't complete yet. The Loxia Suite can be seen also as a retrospective of the Loxian songs on offer already, but I decided to place it more as them being on their newly found homeplanet... and discovering they didn't change and are still stargazers and valleydwellers and looking into water to find the one they love etc.

What a picturesque and inspiring concept, Phantas! Also, very much in the style of Roma's recent lyrical orbits. It somehow resonates with one of my 'visions' of how the next album might be like. And speaking of the visual side of it... two or three years ago I came across a photograph with a model in a white gown standing on a sandy seashore with soft rosy-ivory-blue evening gradient of the horizon, and I thought "this could be Enya's new album", so now I read your description with a big smile, as if you just had a physical copy of the album, which only crossed my mind in a flash – I may try to find the picture, as I sent it to my friend with the same comment then, but I can't promise it is still there in the outbox, as things on insta tend to be shortlived these days. And thanks for reminding me of "Seaside Ditty" too – I've been trying too find this melody, but I forgot the title!

I do still envision either orange or light purple themes for the album cover, and light blue or green I would certainly be open to. Regarding colours that hadn't been chosen, I wondered, what about a soft yellow, or even pink? E.g. this or thisThey could work for the the liner notes perhaps. Somewhat similar to the style of the Amarantine ones inside, but different font, and a darker background with light writing and illustration details. 😊
